Astra Skill Optimizer is a Codex plugin and Python CLI that audits and adapts existing project Skills for GPT-6/Astra and keeps project goals, decisions, and handoffs in a narrow, checkable workflow.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to audit a project's Skills for GPT-6/Astra in Codex with GPT 6 Astra Skill

Repo: [adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill](https://github.com/adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Install the plugin in Codex and get a plain-language audit of one project and its related Skills.

**Who it is for:** A developer whose Codex Skills worked before and may now break under GPT-6/Astra behaviour changes, and who needs the next maintenance decision quickly.

**The problem:** Skills written for earlier behaviour can carry outdated constraints that nobody has checked against GPT-6/Astra.

**The outcome:** A plain-language audit that names the current problem, what an improvement would change, and one next step, with no files changed.

### Steps

1. Run `git clone https://github.com/adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill.git` and then `cd gpt-6-astra-skill`.
2. Run `codex plugin marketplace add "$PWD"` from the checkout.
3. Run `codex plugin add gpt6-astra-skill-optimizer@requirement-ledger-local`.
4. Select one project, start a fresh Codex task, and ask: "Please audit this project and its related Skills for GPT-6/Astra. Explain the current problem, what an improvement would change, and one next step."

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the gpt-6-astra-skill repo's Codex plugin, audit the project at <project-path> and its related Skills for GPT-6/Astra. Return the current problem, what an improvement would change, and one next step. Verify that the audit made no file changes before accepting the result.
```

### Caveat

The plugin is a thin Skill workflow, and complete GPT-6/Astra adaptation still requires real project feedback, while the full Jarvis experience is a long-term goal.

## How to recover a stalled project's goal, stage, and blocker with GPT 6 Astra Skill

Repo: [adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill](https://github.com/adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Use the Jarvis takeover prompt to restore a project's status without modifying it.

**Who it is for:** A project lead or developer picking up a long AI-assisted project whose goal and decisions have drifted into old chat history.

**The problem:** Goals drift, old requirements reappear as facts, and decisions are lost inside chat.

**The outcome:** A status view with the goal, current stage, evidence freshness, blocker, and one next action, plus a checkpoint another task can continue from.

### Steps

1. Run `codex plugin marketplace add "$PWD"` from the GPT 6 Astra Skill checkout.
2. Run `codex plugin add requirement-ledger@requirement-ledger-local`.
3. Select the project, start a fresh Codex task, and ask: "Hi Jarvis, take over this project. Recover its goal, current stage, blocker, and one next action. Do not modify it."
4. If the Skill is not selected automatically, retry once with `$requirement-ledger-workflow Hi Jarvis, take over this selected project.`

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Jarvis workflow from the gpt-6-astra-skill repo, take over the project at <project-path> without modifying it. Return its goal, current stage, blocker, and one next action with the required authority. Verify that no project files changed before reporting the result.
```

### Caveat

The first screen is a host-selected, unbound Codex decision aid, not a CLI-created source pack or final report.

## How to prepare a project handoff for a new Codex task with GPT 6 Astra Skill

Repo: [adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill](https://github.com/adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Generate a handoff with goal, decisions, unfinished work, and a receiving-task opening.

**Who it is for:** A developer who must move a project to another Codex task or teammate before the current chat becomes unmanageable.

**The problem:** Decisions and unfinished work stay trapped in one long chat, so a new task starts from guesses.

**The outcome:** A handoff that lists the goal, decisions, unfinished work, risks, evidence pointers, and an opening for the receiving task.

### Steps

1. Install both plugins as described in the Codex plugin setup steps.
2. In the selected project's Codex task, ask Jarvis to "Prepare a handoff."
3. Copy the receiving-task opening into a fresh Codex task.
4. Ask the receiving task to continue from the checkpoint and name its first action before changing files.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the gpt-6-astra-skill Jarvis workflow, prepare a handoff for the project at <project-path>. Return goal, decisions, unfinished work, risks, evidence pointers, and a receiving-task opening. Verify that the handoff lists evidence pointers before the receiving task acts on it.
```

### Caveat

A handoff check and exact-source binding belong to the evidence-bound CLI review, not to the quick Codex handoff.

## How to run an evidence-bound review with the requirement-ledger CLI with GPT 6 Astra Skill

Repo: [adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill](https://github.com/adand-91/gpt-6-astra-skill) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Create and check a bounded audit scaffold with an explicit window, timezone, and approved output path.

**Who it is for:** A developer or auditor who needs a reproducible, checkable review of one target for a fixed time window.

**The problem:** A quick chat audit cannot be reproduced or handed off, so reviews need explicit inputs and a checked report.

**The outcome:** A validated audit scaffold and a review-check result for a final report written to an approved non-home path.

### Steps

1. From the checkout, run `uv tool install .`.
2. Run `requirement-ledger --version` and confirm the release you installed.
3. Run `requirement-ledger review-init --mode audit --target project:example --start 2026-08-01T08:00:00+08:00 --end 2026-08-02T08:00:00+08:00 --timezone Asia/Shanghai --output /approved/review/final-report.md`, replacing the example values with your own approved values. (inferred, check the README)
4. Run `requirement-ledger review-check /approved/review/final-report.md` and read the result before treating the report as checked.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the requirement-ledger CLI from the gpt-6-astra-skill repo, create an audit scaffold for project:<target> over the window <start> to <end> in timezone <timezone>, written to the approved non-home path <output>. Return the report path and the review-check output. Verify the review-check output before calling the report checked.
```

### Caveat

The CLI is the compatibility core, and passing it does not by itself prove that every product or public-release gate has passed.
