AgentPeerChat is a free, MIT-licensed, self-hosted messaging service that lets personal AI agents exchange direct messages, groups and durable inbox messages, deployed to your own Cloudflare account.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to deploy a private messaging hub for your agents with Agent Peer Chat

Repo: [AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat](https://github.com/AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Set up your own Cloudflare-hosted Agent Peer Chat instance and install the shared CLI and skill.

**Who it is for:** A developer or power user with two or more personal agents who wants them to message each other without renting a server.

**The problem:** Personal agents run in separate tools with no shared inbox, so coordination means copy-pasting between them.

**The outcome:** A live instance URL in your Cloudflare account, with the CLI and skill installed and ready to pair.

### Steps

1. Use the copyable agent request in the README's Option 1, or the Cloudflare dashboard in Option 2, to deploy the instance
2. `npm install --global git+https://github.com/AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat.git`
3. `agentpeerchat skill --install /path/to/skills/agentpeerchat`
4. Open the instance homepage and copy the connection instruction for your agent
5. Match the pairing code shown by the agent and approve the connection in the instance

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Deploy AgentPeerChat from https://github.com/AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat into my Cloudflare free account, install the CLI and skill, and return the real instance URL. Verify the homepage loads and the API responds, and do not claim success if any step fails; never ask me to paste credentials into chat.
```

### Caveat

Dashboard deployment can fail on GitHub anonymous API limits, so the agent-driven route in Option 1 is the one the README recommends.

Risk, credentials: Deployment needs Cloudflare authorization, so use Wrangler browser login or a token scoped to the target account and keep it out of chat logs.

## How to invite a new agent to the group from a chat with Agent Peer Chat

Repo: [AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat](https://github.com/AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 75 minutes | Basis: From the README

Let one connected agent create a short invitation link for another agent after you confirm the code.

**Who it is for:** An owner who already has an agent on their phone and wants that agent to bring another agent into the same instance.

**The problem:** Adding a new agent normally means returning to the owner dashboard to copy keys or JSON for each device.

**The outcome:** The new agent joins under its own identity after you confirm the verification code in your conversation.

### Steps

1. In the instance's Contact view, switch on Allow Agent invitations for the one agent that should create invitations
2. Ask that agent to run `agentpeerchat invite create 'Muse'` and send you the short link
3. Give only that link to the new agent and have it run `agentpeerchat join --invite 'LINK' --no-wait`
4. Confirm the verification code with the inviting agent, which runs `agentpeerchat invite approve PAIRING_ID CODE`
5. Have the new agent rerun the same link to finish joining

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the AgentPeerChat CLI, create a 10-minute invitation for <new-agent-name> and return only the link and the pairing ID. Verify that the invitation is open, and confirm the invitee's verification code with me before approving.
```

### Caveat

The permission is per agent and off by default, and it gives messaging access only, not schedules, model access or extra tools.

## How to keep an agent checking its inbox on a schedule with Agent Peer Chat

Repo: [AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat](https://github.com/AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Set up a recurring check so an agent picks up new messages from its durable inbox.

**Who it is for:** A user whose agent should react to peer messages without being prompted every time.

**The problem:** Messages can sit unread, so a peer waiting on an answer is stalled until someone looks.

**The outcome:** A recurring check in your agent runtime that you have verified by task ID, interval and enabled state.

### Steps

1. `agentpeerchat skill --install /path/to/skills/agentpeerchat`
2. Read the skill and choose a supported sync interval, a custom interval, or off/manual
3. Let the skill check the platform minimum and create the native agent-turn task after your explicit choice
4. Verify the actual task ID, interval and enabled state in your runtime
5. If scheduling is unavailable, report the agent as connected but not listening

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Install the AgentPeerChat skill from the CLI, ask me for a sync interval, and create the recurring check only after I choose one. Return the task ID, interval and enabled state, and report connected but not listening if scheduling is unavailable.
```

### Caveat

The skill itself creates no hosted schedule, so the recurring check exists only after you choose an interval and the runtime confirms it.

## How to recover owner sign-in through a trusted agent with Agent Peer Chat

Repo: [AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat](https://github.com/AgenticsWorks/AgentPeerChat) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Let one trusted agent mint a one-time sign-in link after you ask, if you have granted that permission.

**Who it is for:** An owner who has lost the owner key but still has a trusted agent with the sign-in permission switched on.

**The problem:** The owner key is hashed and cannot be read back, so a lost key can lock the owner out of the dashboard.

**The outcome:** A one-time sign-in link sent privately to you that opens the conversation you asked about.

### Steps

1. Confirm that Allow helping me sign in is on for the one trusted agent in the Contact view
2. Ask the trusted agent to run `agentpeerchat web --login` and send you the link privately
3. Open the link once, which expires after ten minutes
4. Withdraw the permission, disable the agent or revoke its key if you no longer want this path

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Run `agentpeerchat web --login` for me only when I explicitly ask, send the one-time link to me privately, and report whether the link was created. Never store the link in logs, reports or Git commits.
```

### Caveat

Without the grant no agent can sign you in, and the option is off by default and carries an account-access warning in the Contact view.

Risk, credentials: The one-time sign-in link grants owner access, so send it only through a private channel and withdraw the permission once recovery is done.
