# AI use cases for Machine Skill (AirsupHQ/machine-skill)

Repo: [AirsupHQ/machine-skill](https://github.com/AirsupHQ/machine-skill) | Use cases: 4 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/airsuphq-machine-skill/

Machine Skill is an open source Claude Code skill that builds a photoreal, physics based, interactive 3D simulation of a described machine as one HTML file, and can record a short film of it.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to build a cut-open pump page for plant operator training with Machine Skill

Repo: [AirsupHQ/machine-skill](https://github.com/AirsupHQ/machine-skill) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Turn one line into a single HTML file of a cut-open process pump with curves and break modes.

**Who it is for:** A plant trainer or process engineer who needs a visual, clickable pump for operator training and has no 3D modelling skills.

**The problem:** Static diagrams of pumps do not show how the curve, NPSH margin and seal behave when conditions change.

**The outcome:** A single HTML file of an API 610 style process pump that trainees can drag, cut open, hover for part roles, and break by dropping the tower level.

### Steps

1. Run `npx skills add AirsupHQ/machine-skill -g -a claude-code` in a terminal.
2. Start a new Claude Code session, or run `/reload-skills` if the skills folder did not exist when the session started.
3. In Claude Code, run `/machine a refinery process pump, API 610 style, cut open for plant training`. (inferred, check the README)
4. Open the generated HTML file in a browser and use the cutaway, explode and break modes.
5. Share the single file with trainees or embed it in your training site.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the repo AirsupHQ/machine-skill, build a cut-open refinery process pump for plant training as one HTML file. The expected output is a single .html file that opens from disk and shows the pump curve, NPSH available against required, and hover labels. Verify that the file opens in a WebGL 2 browser and that the cutaway and break modes respond.
```

### Caveat

The physics is a small honest model, not CFD or FEA, so the pump numbers are checked against public figures rather than certified.

## How to record a 28 second film of a machine for social feeds with Machine Skill

Repo: [AirsupHQ/machine-skill](https://github.com/AirsupHQ/machine-skill) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Generate a machine and record a numbered-beat film with music, sized for a feed post.

**Who it is for:** A content creator or marketer making short technical clips who wants a film without a video editor.

**The problem:** Filming a moving machine by hand is slow, and screen recordings of web pages often show glitches or blank frames.

**The outcome:** A 28 second MP4 of a machine in numbered beats with a music bed, sized for a 1080 x 1350 feed post.

### Steps

1. Run `npx skills add AirsupHQ/machine-skill -g -a claude-code` and start a Claude Code session.
2. Run `/machine a mechanical watch movement, the escapement ticking` to produce `watch.html`.
3. Install the recorder dependencies with `npm i -D playwright && npx playwright install chromium` and install ffmpeg from your package manager.
4. Record the film with `node ~/.claude/skills/machine/scripts/record.mjs watch.html out/watch.mp4 --music freepd:Classical/Easy_Lemon`.
5. For a feed post, record again with `node scripts/record.mjs examples/turbofan.html out/turbofan-feed.mp4 --w 1080 --h 1350`, then check the output with `node scripts/pinkscan.mjs out/*.mp4`.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the repo AirsupHQ/machine-skill, build a watch movement page for <machine description> and record a 1080 x 1350 film with `scripts/record.mjs`. The expected output is an MP4 in out/ of about 28 seconds. Verify that `scripts/pinkscan.mjs` reports no pink frames and that the command exits zero.
```

### Caveat

Recording needs Node, Playwright and ffmpeg on a machine with a working headless GPU, and the README says heavy pages want a real GPU.

## How to make a slowed mechanism to teach how it works with Machine Skill

Repo: [AirsupHQ/machine-skill](https://github.com/AirsupHQ/machine-skill) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Build a mechanism such as a Swiss lever escapement and slow it down to show each impulse.

**Who it is for:** A physics or engineering teacher preparing a lesson on how a mechanism moves and what forces it sees.

**The problem:** A real mechanism runs too fast to follow in a classroom, and textbook drawings do not show motion.

**The outcome:** A single HTML file of the mechanism at a slowed speed with live labels, pause and the equations shown under How it is computed.

### Steps

1. Run `npx skills add AirsupHQ/machine-skill -g -a claude-code` in a terminal.
2. In Claude Code, run `/machine a Swiss lever escapement, slowed down so I can see the impulse`.
3. Open the generated HTML file and use slow motion, live labels and pause.
4. Open the How it is computed panel to show the equations to students.
5. Share the file through your course page or a projector laptop.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the repo AirsupHQ/machine-skill, build a Swiss lever escapement page slowed down for a classroom as one HTML file. The expected output is a single .html file with slow motion, live labels and a computed equations panel. Verify that the page opens in a WebGL 2 browser and that pausing stops the motion.
```

### Caveat

The page is a small model that says what it computes and what it simplifies, so students should not treat its numbers as certified values.

## How to write a machine page by hand from the template with Machine Skill

Repo: [AirsupHQ/machine-skill](https://github.com/AirsupHQ/machine-skill) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 120 minutes | Basis: From the README

Copy the template and fill four sections yourself when no agent is available.

**Who it is for:** A developer who wants a custom machine page and prefers to write the content without an AI agent.

**The problem:** Some teams cannot run an agent in their environment but still want the same kit of studio, materials and solver layout.

**The outcome:** A hand-filled HTML page built on the same runtime as the generated machines.

### Steps

1. Clone the repo with `git clone https://github.com/AirsupHQ/machine-skill.git` into a working folder.
2. Copy `kit/template.html` to a new file for your machine.
3. Fill the four sections of the template by hand with the geometry, materials, solver and modes.
4. Open the new file in a browser to check that it loads the inlined runtime. (inferred, check the README)
5. Run `node scripts/shot.mjs` on the page to take screenshots and check the frame rate and triangle count. (inferred, check the README)

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the repo AirsupHQ/machine-skill, copy kit/template.html into a new page for <machine description> and fill its four sections by hand. The expected output is one HTML file that opens in a WebGL 2 browser. Verify that the page loads the kit runtime without errors in the browser console.
```

### Caveat

The README gives no step by step guide for filling the template, so the four sections must be filled from the kit files and SKILL.md.
