## How to build a 12-lesson audio course on any topic with Claudemy

Repo: [assafkip/claudemy](https://github.com/assafkip/claudemy) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Turn a topic you name into about 12 two-minute audio lessons with cards and cited sources.

**Who it is for:** A self-learner who wants to pick up a skill such as negotiation or sourdough and will not finish a long syllabus or a 40-hour course.

**The problem:** Existing courses are long, fixed and often out of date, so people start them and stop.

**The outcome:** A short course of audio lessons, a card per lesson, and a playbook file that the learner keeps.

### Steps

1. Run `/plugin marketplace add assafkip/claudemy` in Claude Code.
2. Run `/plugin install claudemy@claudemy` in Claude Code.
3. Install dependencies with `pip install beautifulsoup4` and make sure ffmpeg is available.
4. Optional: set `ELEVENLABS_API_KEY` for natural two-voice lessons, or skip it to use macOS voices.
5. Ask Claude Code with `teach me <topic>` and approve the sample lesson when it is ready. (inferred, check the README)

```text
Using the Claudemy skill in the assafkip/claudemy repo, ask Claude Code to teach <topic>. Expected output: about 12 two-minute MP3 lessons, a card per lesson, and a playbook file in the local workspace. Verify that each lesson card links to the pages the research actually read.
```

### Caveat

Claudemy needs Claude Code with web search, and the sample lesson pauses the run until you react to it.

Risk, credentials: If you set ELEVENLABS_API_KEY, the text of each lesson is sent to ElevenLabs to render audio, so keep the key in your environment or the plugin keychain prompt.

## How to build a course from one expert's blog or Substack with Claudemy

Repo: [assafkip/claudemy](https://github.com/assafkip/claudemy) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Name a specific expert and get a course built from their own published writing.

**Who it is for:** A learner who wants to study one practitioner's approach and has a named writer in mind.

**The problem:** Following one expert's posts is scattered, with no order and no way to finish a structured course.

**The outcome:** A lesson series and cards built from that expert's Substack or blog, with links to the source pages.

### Steps

1. Install the Claudemy skill as shown in the README install section.
2. Pick the expert and find their Substack or blog URL or name.
3. Ask Claude Code with `teach me <topic> from <expert>'s writing`. (inferred, check the README)
4. Review the sample lesson and confirm it matches the expert's published work.
5. Keep the playbook and cards in the local workspace for your own study.

```text
Using the assafkip/claudemy skill, ask Claude Code to teach <topic> from <expert>'s writing. Expected output: a lesson series, cards, and a playbook based on that expert's blog or Substack. Verify that every cited link points to a page the expert published.
```

### Caveat

The README says pages read are saved only in your local workspace for your own study, so use the output for personal learning as the README describes.

## How to map where experts disagree on a topic, as cards with Claudemy

Repo: [assafkip/claudemy](https://github.com/assafkip/claudemy) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Get a cited lesson plan and cards that show where practitioners split on a topic.

**Who it is for:** A team lead or analyst who needs a sourced overview of a contested topic before making a decision.

**The problem:** Web research on a topic returns many opinions with no clear view of where sources agree and where they do not.

**The outcome:** A lesson plan laid out as decisions, cards with source agreement counts, and a playbook with one rule per lesson.

### Steps

1. Install the Claudemy skill using the plugin commands in the README.
2. Ask Claude Code with `teach me <topic>` and let it research 20 to 40 pages. (inferred, check the README)
3. Open the lesson plan and read the sections that show where experts split.
4. Check the source agreement counts on each card against the linked pages.
5. Optional: install pandoc to get a Word copy of the cards.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Claudemy skill from assafkip/claudemy, ask Claude Code to research <topic> and output the lesson plan and cards. Expected output: a decision-based lesson plan with source agreement counts and cited links. Verify that the cited pages match the claims on each card.
```

### Caveat

The README notes that health, legal and financial topics get a note where advice depends on your situation, so do not treat the output as professional advice.
