Repo: [Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab](https://github.com/Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab) | Use cases: 4 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/bingeljell-image-to-3dlab/

AssetFurnace is a free, open-source studio that turns a sentence or picture into a textured, rigged, animated 3D game character or prop set, run locally on Apple Silicon or NVIDIA hardware.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to turn a picture into a rigged, animated game character with Image to 3dlab

Repo: [Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab](https://github.com/Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Go from one picture or sentence to a textured humanoid with a skeleton and a chosen move, exported as GLB.

**Who it is for:** An indie game developer on a Mac or NVIDIA PC who needs a playable humanoid placeholder or final character fast.

**The problem:** Rigging and animating a generated 3D humanoid by hand takes specialist time, and cloud services may upload the art.

**The outcome:** An animated GLB file of your character, with the skeleton and a move picked from 21 presets, ready for Godot, Unity, Unreal, Blender or three.js.

### Steps

1. Run `curl -fsSL https://assetfurnace.com/install.sh | bash` in a terminal and wait for the studio to open in your browser.
2. In Setup & Status, choose the model weights you want, check the size and licence shown, and approve the download.
3. In the studio, drop a picture of a humanoid, or press + Create and type a sentence, then press Create to run the steps.
4. Press Rig so SkinTokens fits a skeleton and skin weights to the character.
5. Pick one of the 21 moves, such as walk or run, then download the animated GLB for your engine.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the AssetFurnace repo at <install folder>, make a rigged humanoid from the picture at <picture path>, apply the walk move, and export the animated GLB. Verify that the output file is a GLB that contains a skeleton and an animation track.
```

### Caveat

The README notes that picking a picture with a soft 3D-render look, an A-pose and open hands gives better results, so the input choice matters.

## How to make nine game-ready props from one prompt with Image to 3dlab

Repo: [Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab](https://github.com/Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Generate one sheet of props and split it into separate named 3D props with LODs and compressed textures.

**Who it is for:** A 3D artist or solo game developer who needs a set of background props, such as barrels or crates, without modelling each one.

**The problem:** Making each prop separately means a picture, a 3D run and a clean-up for every item, which is slow for a prop set.

**The outcome:** Nine separate upright props, each with three levels of detail and compressed textures, ready to drop into a game engine.

### Steps

1. Install with `curl -fsSL https://assetfurnace.com/install.sh | bash` and let the studio open.
2. In Setup & Status, set up the Pixal3D backend, which the README lists as the best-results option.
3. Press + Create and type a prompt that asks for a grid of props on one sheet.
4. Choose Create, then Nine props, to run the whole sheet to 3D in a single run.
5. Download the separate props from the studio and import them into your engine.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the AssetFurnace repo at <install folder>, generate a prop sheet from the prompt '<prompt>' and split it into nine props. Verify that nine separate named props are produced, each with three LOD levels.
```

### Caveat

The README says prop sheets were built and contributed by a community member, and it does not state how many prop styles work best, so test your own prompt first.

## How to keep logos and text sharp on a low-poly model with Image to 3dlab

Repo: [Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab](https://github.com/Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Use Pixel Match to copy the real pixels of your picture back onto a Pixal3D model cut to about 5k faces.

**Who it is for:** A 3D artist making a branded or story-driven character whose chest logo, lettering or face must stay readable.

**The problem:** Image-to-3D models redraw the picture, so text and logos come back garbled, and cutting faces makes this worse.

**The outcome:** A low-poly model where text such as a chest label still reads correctly, with the file kept at a light game size by Finish.

### Steps

1. Install with `curl -fsSL https://assetfurnace.com/install.sh | bash` and open the studio.
2. In Setup & Status, set up Pixal3D, which the README says has Pixel Match on by default.
3. Drop your picture with the text or logo, then press Create to build the 3D model.
4. Open the Finish step and confirm Pixel Match is applied to the surfaces the image can see.
5. Check the text on the model, then download the finished, compressed file.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the AssetFurnace repo at <install folder>, build a Pixal3D model from <picture path> with Pixel Match on and Finish set to about 5k faces. Verify that the text '<visible text>' is legible on the model surface.
```

### Caveat

The README says Pixel Match is on by default only for Pixal3D models and that other backends are coming, so it will not apply to the other backends yet.

## How to let Claude Code or Codex make and tweak 3D assets with Image to 3dlab

Repo: [Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab](https://github.com/Bingeljell/image-to-3dlab) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Connect AssetFurnace as an MCP tool so your coding agent makes, checks and adjusts 3D assets locally.

**Who it is for:** A developer who already works in Claude Code or Codex and wants an agent to produce game assets on their own machine.

**The problem:** Asset work usually breaks the flow of a coding session, and sending art to hosted tools raises upload concerns.

**The outcome:** An agent session that generates a character or model, checks the run, tries another setting and opens the result in the studio.

### Steps

1. Install with `curl -fsSL https://assetfurnace.com/install.sh | bash`, or ask your agent to install it from assetfurnace.com.
2. For Claude Code, run `claude mcp add assetfurnace -- ~/image-to-3dlab/lab mcp`.
3. For Codex, run `codex mcp add assetfurnace -- ~/image-to-3dlab/lab mcp`.
4. Start a new agent session.
5. Ask the agent to make a character, for example 'Make me a Pixar-style gator warrior and show me.'

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the AssetFurnace MCP server in the repo at <install folder>, make a 3D model of <subject>, check the run status, and open the result in the studio. Verify that the agent asks before downloading any model weights and that the output file exists on disk.
```

### Caveat

The README says Mac and Linux are supported for agent use and Windows is not tested yet, and agents cannot delete or rename your assets.
