Punctual is an open, MIT-licensed scheduling app that runs on Cloudflare Workers as a single-team alternative to Calendly.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to host your own booking page on Cloudflare for free with Punctual

Repo: [CCCrafts/punctual](https://github.com/CCCrafts/punctual) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Deploy a Calendly-style booking page into your own Cloudflare account at $0 on the free tier.

**Who it is for:** A solo consultant or small team lead who wants to stop paying per-seat for scheduling and already has a Cloudflare account.

**The problem:** Hosted scheduling tools charge for seats and gate features, and you do not control where booking data lives.

**The outcome:** A live Worker URL serving your booking pages, with D1, KV and R2 resources created in your own account.

### Steps

1. Run `npx punctual-sh init` if you have Node 20+ and a Cloudflare account; it clones the repo, creates resources, writes their ids into wrangler.toml, generates secrets, migrates and deploys.
2. Or clone by hand with `git clone https://github.com/CCCrafts/punctual.git` and then `cd punctual && npm install`.
3. Run `npx wrangler login`, then create the D1, KV and R2 resources as described in the README and record their ids or names in wrangler.toml.
4. Generate and store the two secrets, ENCRYPTION_KEY_V1 and SIGNING_KEY, with `npx wrangler secret put`.
5. Run `npm run migrate`, then `npm run deploy`, put the printed Worker URL into BASE_URL in wrangler.toml, and run `npm run deploy` again.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the CCCrafts/punctual repo, deploy the Worker to the Cloudflare account <account-name> following the README quick start. Report the final Worker URL and confirm that BASE_URL in wrangler.toml matches it.
```

### Caveat

The README says the open-source version is complete for a single team, and the free-tier cost claim applies only to the Cloudflare resources you create.

Risk, credentials: The setup generates and stores ENCRYPTION_KEY_V1 and SIGNING_KEY as Cloudflare secrets, so keep them out of shared logs and chat transcripts.

## How to sync Google and Microsoft calendars into bookings with Punctual

Repo: [CCCrafts/punctual](https://github.com/CCCrafts/punctual) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 1 hour 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Connect Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 to stop double bookings against existing meetings.

**Who it is for:** A team admin whose hosts already live in Google Calendar or Microsoft 365 and who needs bookings to respect those calendars.

**The problem:** Without calendar sync, a booking page offers times that are already taken on a host's real calendar.

**The outcome:** A booking page that checks connected Google or Microsoft calendars and shows only truly open slots.

### Steps

1. Complete the base deployment using `npx punctual-sh init` or the manual steps in the README.
2. Create your own Google and Microsoft OAuth apps, since the README says calendar sync uses your own OAuth app.
3. Follow the walkthrough in docs/self-hosting.md to connect each host's Google or Microsoft calendar.
4. Create an event type with buffers and notice windows, then open the booking page and confirm that a busy calendar slot is not offered.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the CCCrafts/punctual repo and docs/self-hosting.md, list the steps to connect a Google calendar to a deployed Punctual instance at <base-url>. Output the ordered steps and confirm that the OAuth redirect values match the deployed BASE_URL.
```

### Caveat

The README points to docs/self-hosting.md for the calendar connection steps, so the exact OAuth setup is not in the README itself.

Risk, credentials: Google and Microsoft OAuth app credentials grant access to host calendars, so store them as secrets and limit the scopes you create.

## How to let an AI agent check and manage your calendar with Punctual

Repo: [CCCrafts/punctual](https://github.com/CCCrafts/punctual) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Use the built-in MCP server so an AI agent can call your scheduling data as tools.

**Who it is for:** A founder or operator who already uses an AI agent for daily planning and wants it to see open slots and bookings.

**The problem:** An agent cannot answer 'when am I free next week' without a live connection to the calendar it is supposed to reason about.

**The outcome:** An MCP-connected agent that can query your Punctual calendar and report availability.

### Steps

1. Deploy your Punctual instance using `npx punctual-sh init` or the manual steps in the README.
2. Locate the MCP endpoint of your deployed Worker in docs/self-hosting.md or the Worker URL printed by the deploy. (inferred, check the README)
3. Add that MCP endpoint to your agent's MCP server settings. (inferred, check the README)
4. Ask the agent to list open slots for the next five working days and check that the times match the booking page.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the CCCrafts/punctual repo, connect an MCP client to the deployed Punctual Worker at <worker-url> and list the tools it exposes. Return the tool names and one sample availability result, and verify the times against the public booking page.
```

### Caveat

The README mentions a built-in MCP server but does not list its tools or how to authenticate, so verify both in the repo before relying on them.

Risk, credentials: An MCP connection gives the agent access to your calendar data, so only connect it to agents and hosts you trust.

## How to route bookings across a team with round-robin hosts with Punctual

Repo: [CCCrafts/punctual](https://github.com/CCCrafts/punctual) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 1 hour 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Set up a team event type so bookings rotate between required and optional hosts.

**Who it is for:** A team lead running sales or support calls who needs bookings spread across several people.

**The problem:** Manually assigning each booking to a host is slow and leaves some people overloaded.

**The outcome:** A team event type that assigns each guest to a host in rotation, with required and optional hosts respected.

### Steps

1. Deploy the instance with `npx punctual-sh init` or the manual steps in the README.
2. Connect the calendars of each team member as described in docs/self-hosting.md.
3. In the team admin area, add members, create a round-robin event type and set each member's availability. (inferred, check the README)
4. Book a test slot and confirm that the host assigned matches the rotation.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the CCCrafts/punctual repo, describe how to create a round-robin team event type for three hosts on a deployed instance at <base-url>. Output the setup steps and confirm which host receives the first test booking.
```

### Caveat

The README says team admins can manage members and event types, but the admin screens and their exact steps are not documented in the README.
