Kilnframe is a free, open-source plugin for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve Studio that listens to speech in a timeline range and renders matching animated inserts and sound effects locally with HyperFrames.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to add animated inserts that match what you say with Kilnframe

Repo: [erhanmeydan/kilnframe](https://github.com/erhanmeydan/kilnframe) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Mark an in and out range, pick a style, and get a code-made animation with sound effects on your timeline.

**Who it is for:** A YouTuber editing talking-head videos who wants charts and diagrams without After Effects.

**The problem:** Making motion graphics for every point takes hours.

**The outcome:** An animation that fits the spoken content, placed above the range.

### Steps

1. Install the plugin for your editor
2. Mark an in/out range on the timeline
3. Pick one of the eleven styles
4. Let Kilnframe render and place the insert

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using erhanmeydan/kilnframe in <editor>, generate an insert for the range <in-out> in style <style>. Describe the scene it planned and confirm it was placed above the range.
```

### Caveat

It works with DaVinci Resolve Studio, the paid edition, not the free Resolve.

## How to keep every insert in one consistent look with Kilnframe

Repo: [erhanmeydan/kilnframe](https://github.com/erhanmeydan/kilnframe) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Pick one Kilnframe style for the whole timeline so every animated insert in Premiere or Resolve looks like the same series.

**Who it is for:** A YouTuber or course creator editing a long talking-head video who wants explainer inserts that match.

**The problem:** Inserts made one at a time drift in look and make the edit feel stitched together.

**The outcome:** Animated inserts and sound effects in one style, placed on their own tracks with trim handles.

### Steps

1. Install Kilnframe (Kilnframe-mac.pkg or Kilnframe-Windows.exe) and open its panel in Premiere Pro 2026 or Resolve Studio 21.1
2. Choose one style, for example Navy Clay, Flat Infographic or Whiteboard, and keep it for the project
3. Mark an in/out range of 10 to 40 seconds and press Create Animation
4. Check the stills, redo a scene with a note if needed, then Approve and Render
5. Need a house look? Use Own Style with a written description or a reference image

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Plan Kilnframe inserts for <video> in the <style> style, one per key point in <ranges>. Keep the same style for all, and flag any range longer than 40 seconds.
```

### Caveat

Free DaVinci Resolve cannot load plugins, so Resolve users need Studio; Intel Macs are not supported yet.

## How to render inserts from audio on the command line with Kilnframe

Repo: [erhanmeydan/kilnframe](https://github.com/erhanmeydan/kilnframe) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Build Kilnframe from source and render an animated insert, stills and a sound effects mix from a WAV on the command line.

**Who it is for:** A developer automating explainer clips for many videos who wants the renderer without opening an editor.

**The problem:** Clicking through an editor panel for every clip does not scale.

**The outcome:** An out/ folder with insert.mp4, preview.mp4, sfx_mix.wav, stills, plan.json and transcript.json.

### Steps

1. Clone github.com/erhanmeydan/kilnframe and run `pnpm install` then `pnpm build`
2. Export the speech segment you want as part.wav
3. Run `node packages/core/dist/cli.js run --audio part.wav --style kil-lacivert --fps 30000/1001 --size 1920x1080 --out out/first`
4. Open out/first and check insert.mp4, preview.mp4 and plan.json
5. Run `pnpm check` after any change (typecheck, lint, format and tests)

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Build kilnframe and render an insert from <wav> with style <style> at 1920x1080 into out/<name>. Confirm insert.mp4 and sfx_mix.wav exist and report the scene count from plan.json.
```

### Caveat

You still connect an AI provider for planning; only the transcript, scene plan, style text and a few small stills are sent to it.
