A Claude Code skill that makes motion design videos entirely in code using HTML, Playwright and ffmpeg, with no After Effects or Remotion license.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to make a motion design video from a brief in Claude Code with Claude Motion Design

Repo: [howseen-ai/claude-motion-design](https://github.com/howseen-ai/claude-motion-design) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 2 hours | Basis: From the README

Turn brand facts and a short brief into a beat-synced motion design film, built in code by Claude Code.

**Who it is for:** A founder or marketer at a small software company who needs a launch video for a product page or social post and has no video editor or budget for one.

**The problem:** Motion design videos usually need After Effects, a paid tool or a freelancer, and changes after the first cut are slow.

**The outcome:** A rendered MP4 with music and sound effects cut to the beat, where each scene is code that can be changed with a follow-up request.

### Steps

1. Install the skill: `mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r skill/motion-design ~/.claude/skills/`
2. Install the Python dependencies: `pip install playwright imageio-ffmpeg numpy pillow && python -m playwright install chromium`
3. In Claude Code, type `/motion-design` or ask for a video, then give it your brand facts and a short brief so it writes the director's brief before any code.
4. Approve the four stills it produces, then render the full film. (inferred) Run `python render.py full` in the project folder if it follows the example layout.
5. Add the music and sound effects with `python audio.py`, then mux them with `ffmpeg -i out/video.mp4 -i out/audio.wav -map 0:v -map 1:a -c:v libx264 -crf 16 -c:a aac -shortest out/final.mp4`

```text
Using the claude-motion-design skill in Claude Code, make a short motion design launch video for <brand name> from the facts in <brand folder>. Expected output: four approved stills and a final MP4 with audio at -14 LUFS. Verify that the brand name and product facts on screen match the sourced facts.md file.
```

### Caveat

The skill needs Python, Chromium and ffmpeg set up on your machine, so it is not a copy-and-paste tool for non-developers.

## How to run the Howseen example film locally and re-render it with Claude Motion Design

Repo: [howseen-ai/claude-motion-design](https://github.com/howseen-ai/claude-motion-design) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Render the included Howseen launch film from its source to learn how the skill is structured before you change it.

**Who it is for:** A developer who wants a working reference project before adapting the skill to their own product video.

**The problem:** The skill's rules are easier to follow when you can see a finished film built from the same code.

**The outcome:** A local copy of the 24 second launch film rendered at 60 fps with its music and sound effects, plus a stills sheet to review.

### Steps

1. Go into the example folder: `cd examples/howseen-launch`
2. Download the free music, sound effects, logos and font: `python fetch_assets.py`
3. Serve the film in the background: `python -m http.server 8000 &`
4. Render quick stills to check the look: `python render.py probe 1 8 15 20`
5. Render the full film, then build the audio: `python render.py full` and `python audio.py`

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the claude-motion-design repo, run the examples/howseen-launch project and render the full film to out/video.mp4. Expected output: a 60 fps MP4 and probe/sheet.png. Verify that the probe sheet shows the four frames at 1, 8, 15 and 20 seconds.
```

### Caveat

The example downloads third-party media under its own licenses, so keep those files out of any video you publish unless their licenses allow it.

## How to remake a launch video frame by frame for your brand with Claude Motion Design

Repo: [howseen-ai/claude-motion-design](https://github.com/howseen-ai/claude-motion-design) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 4 hours | Basis: From the README

Rebuild a reference launch video shot by shot in your own brand, with a side-by-side compare against the original.

**Who it is for:** A marketer who has seen a launch video they want to match in pacing and structure, but needs their own product, brand and sound.

**The problem:** Matching a reference video's timing by hand in an editor is slow, and small timing errors are easy to miss.

**The outcome:** A frame-locked remake for your brand plus an encoded split-screen that shows the original next to the new copy, with a stacked sync check.

### Steps

1. Read the remake folder and its brief template at `skill/motion-design/scripts/remake/` before you start.
2. Supply the reference video and your own brand facts. Do not reuse the reference's music, voice or people photos.
3. Run phase 0: extract every frame, detect cuts and write a shot-by-shot spec.
4. Run phases 1 and 2: build the shared seek(F) engine, then the four build agents and the audio agent, checking each side-by-side compare sheet against the reference.
5. Run phase 3: render the film, encode the split-screen and review the stacked sync check.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the remake mode in the claude-motion-design skill, make a frame-locked remake of <reference video> for <brand name> with the brief in <brief file>. Expected output: a shot-by-shot spec, a rendered remake and a split-screen MP4 labelled original and new copy. Verify that no music, voice or people photos from the reference appear in the output.
```

### Caveat

The README describes remake mode in outline only, so the exact commands and file layout must be read from the folder itself.

Risk, reverse engineering: This mode rebuilds another company's launch video frame by frame, so only use it on a video you have the right to study and never copy its music, voice or people photos.
