# AI use cases for Hycli (Hybirdss/Hycli)

Repo: [Hybirdss/Hycli](https://github.com/Hybirdss/Hycli) | Use cases: 3 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/hybirdss-hycli/

Hycli is a Rust tool that turns website interfaces into typed CLI commands and MCP tools for AI agents, with a local dashboard.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to turn a website into a typed CLI in one command with Hycli

Repo: [Hybirdss/Hycli](https://github.com/Hybirdss/Hycli) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Point Hycli at a site and a goal to get its reads, writes, and workflows as CLI subcommands.

**Who it is for:** A developer who wants scripted access to a website and does not want to write a client by hand.

**The problem:** Writing a client for a website by hand means studying its requests, docs, and traffic, then keeping it working as the site changes.

**The outcome:** A list of prepared reads, writes, and multi-step workflows you can run from the terminal, with read actions ready to run.

### Steps

1. Download the native installer or portable archive for your platform from Releases (v0.1.0) and install it.
2. Run `hycli open` to start the local dashboard at http://127.0.0.1:4318.
3. Run `hycli prepare https://your-website.example --intent "Search posts, save drafts, and publish articles"`.
4. Run `hycli describe your-website` to see every prepared read, write, and workflow.
5. Run `hycli your-website search-posts --query "release notes"` to test a read action.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the Hycli repo (github.com/Hybirdss/Hycli), run `hycli prepare <site-url> --intent "<goal>"` and then `hycli describe <site-name>`. Return the list of prepared read and write actions. Verify that no write request was sent during preparation.
```

### Caveat

The prepared action set depends on what the site's docs, bundles, and traffic reveal, so review the output of describe before relying on it.

Risk, reverse engineering: Hycli learns from linked docs, OpenAPI or GraphQL schemas, static JS bundles, and observed browser traffic, so only point it at sites you are allowed to automate.

## How to let an AI agent draft a post with write approval with Hycli

Repo: [Hybirdss/Hycli](https://github.com/Hybirdss/Hycli) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Connect Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex to a site and enable writes once for that CLI.

**Who it is for:** A content writer or marketer who wants an AI assistant to draft posts on a site they already use.

**The problem:** Letting an agent write to a live account can post, edit, or delete content you did not intend to change.

**The outcome:** A draft created on the site only after you approved write actions for that CLI.

### Steps

1. Add `"command": "hycli", "args": ["mcp"]` to your MCP client settings for Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
2. Ask your agent: "Use Hycli to prepare `https://...`, show me what actions are available, and draft a new post."
3. When the agent asks, approve writes once for that CLI, which runs `hycli writes your-website allow`.
4. Run `hycli your-website create-draft --title "Hello from Hycli" --body "Automated from my terminal."` to confirm the draft path works.
5. Run `hycli writes your-website deny` when you no longer want the agent to write. (inferred, check the README)

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Use the Hycli MCP server (command `hycli`, args `mcp`) to prepare <site-url>, list its actions, and ask me before enabling writes. After I approve, create one draft post on <site-name>. Expected output: a confirmation that the draft was created. Verify the draft appears in the site account before anything is published.
```

### Caveat

Once writes are enabled for a CLI, the agent can run write actions on that site, so turn writes off when you are done.

Risk, credentials: Logged-in sites need your browser session imported into the local vault, so the agent acts with your account until you deny writes.

## How to check whether a site connection is still signed in with Hycli

Repo: [Hybirdss/Hycli](https://github.com/Hybirdss/Hycli) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Run a health check without AI that separates signed-out, changed, blocked, and unreachable sites.

**Who it is for:** A user with several logged-in sites wired into agents who needs to know why an action stopped working.

**The problem:** When a login expires, agents can waste tokens retrying, and the real cause is not clear.

**The outcome:** A status that tells you whether to reconnect your account, repair the spec, or wait.

### Steps

1. Run `hycli open`, go to Accounts, and click **Find my sign-in** for the logged-in site.
2. Run `hycli check your-website` to replay verified read chains. (inferred, check the README)
3. If the status is signed_out, reconnect the account from the dashboard.
4. If the status is site_changed, run `hycli prepare https://your-website.example --intent "..."` again with the same goal to refresh the spec. (inferred, check the README)
5. If the status is blocked or unreachable, wait and run `hycli check your-website` again later. (inferred, check the README)

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Hycli repo, run `hycli check <site-name>` and report the status it returns: signed_out, site_changed, blocked, or unreachable. Expected output: one status and no LLM call. Verify the status before reconnecting an account or re-preparing the site.
```

### Caveat

The check reports a status but does not fix signed-out accounts or changed sites on its own.

Risk, credentials: Session import reads only the target domain's cookies and storage, and those secrets stay in your local vault.
