Noobi.ai is a local-first macOS desktop agent that turns a game prompt into a reviewed, playable Web or Godot 4 project using Codex App Server.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to turn a game idea into a playable Web game with Noobi AI

Repo: [Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai](https://github.com/Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Describe a game in plain language and get a reviewed, playable local Web project.

**Who it is for:** A hobbyist or indie maker on a macOS laptop who wants a quick playable prototype from one idea and has no game engine set up.

**The problem:** Building even a small browser game from scratch takes time, coding skill and repeated testing.

**The outcome:** A standalone Web project in your own local workspace that has passed review, build and automated playtest checks.

### Steps

1. `git clone https://github.com/Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai.git`
2. `cd Noobi.ai`
3. `npm ci`
4. `npm run dev`
5. In the app, open Settings → Codex account and sign in, then enter your game brief and let the Agent choose Web.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Noobi.ai repo cloned at <path>, run `npm ci` and `npm run dev`, then submit this game brief in the workbench: <game idea>. Expect a standalone Web project in the local workspace that passed the review and playtest gate; verify the completion status shown in the workbench before reporting success.
```

### Caveat

The app is a developer preview with no signed binary, so you run it from source, and quality depends on the selected model and available image route.

Risk, credentials: You sign in to your ChatGPT/Codex account inside the app, so keep that account's sign-in details private.

## How to build a Godot 4 game with engine checks with Noobi AI

Repo: [Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai](https://github.com/Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 2 hours | Basis: From the README

Have Noobi AI build a Godot 4 project, then import, validate and export it through the host.

**Who it is for:** A game developer who already uses Godot 4 and wants the Agent to scaffold and check a Godot project.

**The problem:** Setting up a Godot project, checking it imports cleanly and producing a Web build is repetitive, and easy to get wrong.

**The outcome:** A Godot 4 workspace that the host has imported, validated and exported to a Web build, with the result visible in the workbench.

### Steps

1. Install Godot 4 and the Web export templates that exactly match your Godot version.
2. `git clone https://github.com/Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai.git`
3. `cd Noobi.ai`
4. `npm ci`
5. `npm run dev`
6. In the workbench, sign in to Codex, describe your game and let the Agent select Godot 4.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the Noobi.ai repo at <path>, install dependencies with `npm ci`, start the app with `npm run dev`, and submit a Godot 4 game brief: <game idea>. Expect a Godot 4 workspace with a Compatibility-renderer Web export; verify that the environment and export-template checks passed before counting the run as complete.
```

### Caveat

Godot delivery currently targets a Compatibility-renderer Web export, and automatic native macOS, Windows and Linux exports are not connected yet.

## How to add a custom media provider to the pipeline with Noobi AI

Repo: [Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai](https://github.com/Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 2 hours | Basis: From the README

Wire your own REST image, audio or 3D provider into Noobi AI through its provider store and service.

**Who it is for:** A developer who has a generation API for images, audio or 3D models and wants Noobi AI to call it for game assets.

**The problem:** Game production needs assets, and a team's preferred generation service is not available out of the box.

**The outcome:** A forked Noobi AI build where your provider is a configured route, with its generated assets passing through the existing asset validation.

### Steps

1. `git clone https://github.com/Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai.git`
2. `cd Noobi.ai`
3. `npm ci`
4. Read src/main/mediaProviderStore.ts and src/main/mediaGenerationService.ts, then add your provider adapter following the existing REST provider pattern.
5. `npm run typecheck`
6. `npm test`

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the Noobi.ai repo at <path>, add a REST provider adapter for <provider name> by following src/main/mediaProviderStore.ts and src/main/mediaGenerationService.ts. Expect a passing typecheck and test run; verify that the new route is configurable and that generated assets still pass the existing validation before proposing a pull request.
```

### Caveat

The README names the files to change but does not document the adapter interface, so read the source before writing code and run `npm run smoke:media` only if you accept its provider quota use.

Risk, credentials: Provider API keys are sealed by Electron safeStorage, so keep test keys out of commits, logs and pull requests.

## How to study a review-gated agent loop with repair rounds with Noobi AI

Repo: [Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai](https://github.com/Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Read how Noobi AI bounds agents with read-only roles, three repair rounds and a host proof gate.

**Who it is for:** An AI engineer designing a multi-agent coding workflow who needs a working example of bounded review and repair.

**The problem:** Letting one agent improvise an entire project in one pass makes results hard to check and hard to stop.

**The outcome:** A clear map of the Planner, Implementer, Reviewer and repair roles, and the host checks that decide completion, ready to reuse as a pattern.

### Steps

1. `git clone https://github.com/Innate-Labs/Noobi.ai.git`
2. `cd Noobi.ai`
3. `npm ci`
4. Read docs/ARCHITECTURE.md, then the prompt contracts in src/main/gameHarness.ts and src/main/promptTemplateStore.ts.
5. `npm test`

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Clone the Noobi.ai repo to <path>, read docs/ARCHITECTURE.md and the prompt contracts in src/main/gameHarness.ts, then write a short summary of how the Planner, Implementer, Reviewer and repair rounds hand off work. Expect a summary that names each role's permissions and the host proof gate; verify each claim against the source file before relying on it.
```

### Caveat

The loop is built for game production, so reuse the bounded-repair pattern rather than the game-specific checks, and the README does not describe its test coverage.
