## How to get a short plain-language explanation in chat with Skills

Repo: [isas1/skills](https://github.com/isas1/skills) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Ask for a brief ELI5-style answer in chat, with no file written.

**Who it is for:** Someone who needs to grasp a technical term or a piece of AI output quickly and does not want a long answer.

**The problem:** Long answers bury the point and take more reading than the question deserves.

**The outcome:** A short plain-language answer in the chat window, with no file created.

### Steps

1. Paste `ELI5 succinct` followed by the thing to explain into the chat, for example `ELI5 succinct on this regex`. (inferred, check the README)
2. (Optional, for routing through the skill) Run `cp -r skills/eli5-succinct ~/.claude/skills/` from the repo root.
3. (Optional) Run `cp -r skills/summary ~/.claude/skills/` as well, since the routing in each description depends on the other existing.
4. Ask `eli5 succinct on <thing>` and read the chat reply. (inferred, check the README)

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the eli5-succinct skill from isas1/skills, explain <thing> briefly in chat. Expect a short plain-language answer and no file written. Verify that no file was created.
```

### Caveat

Install both Skills, since the routing in each description depends on the other existing.

## How to turn a repo's current work into one HTML summary page with Skills

Repo: [isas1/skills](https://github.com/isas1/skills) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Build one self-contained HTML page that summarises a branch or work tree, ready to view or send.

**Who it is for:** A developer or reviewer who needs to show a branch's changes to someone else without making them read the diff.

**The problem:** Diffs and chat history are hard to hand over to someone who was not part of the work.

**The outcome:** One HTML file that opens in a browser and survives Print to PDF.

### Steps

1. Run `cp -r skills/summary ~/.claude/skills/` from the repo root.
2. Open the git repository you want summarised.
3. Ask for `summary` of the branch or work tree.
4. Open the generated HTML file in a browser and check that the listed changes match `git status` and `git diff`.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the git repo at <path>, use the summary skill from isas1/skills to build a single HTML page of the current branch. Expect one self-contained HTML file with no external assets. Verify that each changed file named on the page appears in git status or git diff.
```

### Caveat

The skill reads git state from the target, so run it inside the repo you want summarised.

## How to make a summary page accessible for ADHD or dyslexia readers with Skills

Repo: [isas1/skills](https://github.com/isas1/skills) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Add the accessible mode to a summary page so readers get the same facts with less visual load.

**Who it is for:** A team lead sharing a status page with colleagues who need an accessible format.

**The problem:** The standard page can be too dense for some readers, so the same facts need a format they can take in more easily.

**The outcome:** An accessible HTML page with the same facts, status repeated top and bottom, literal headings, colour-coded state and no motion.

### Steps

1. Run `cp -r skills/summary ~/.claude/skills/` from the repo root.
2. Ask `summary, make it ADHD friendly` for the branch or work tree you want to share.
3. Open the generated page and compare its facts with a plain summary of the same target.
4. Check that the page has no motion and that its headings are literal.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the summary skill in accessible mode from isas1/skills, build an HTML page for the repo at <path>. Expect one self-contained page with the same facts as the plain version. Verify that the page contains no motion and that its facts match a plain summary.
```

### Caveat

Modes stack and accessible wins where they conflict, so compare the output against the plain page before sharing.
