Repo: [Jakeschincariol/arena-skill](https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill) | Use cases: 4 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/jakeschincariol-arena-skill/

A free Claude Code skill that runs 100 sub-agents of the same model on one task, pairs their solutions in a judged bracket, and returns the single survivor.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to get a stronger answer after Claude keeps missing with Arena Skill

Repo: [Jakeschincariol/arena-skill](https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Run /arena on a task Claude keeps getting wrong and receive one attacked, judged survivor.

**Who it is for:** A developer or writer who has asked Claude for the same thing several times and still is not happy with the result.

**The problem:** Re-asking Claude one prompt at a time gives variations of the same weak answer and no record of what is wrong with it.

**The outcome:** One surviving solution, the attacks it beat, its strategy card and the round count, plus a blind comparison against the rejected answer.

### Steps

1. Clone the repo with `git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill.git`
2. Copy the skill with `cp -r arena-skill/skills/arena ~/.claude/skills/`
3. In Claude Code, run `/arena --quick <your task>` using the task you want solved (inferred, check the README)
4. Read the surviving solution and the attacks it survived before you use it
5. Apply any code changes yourself, since the skill asks before it changes anything

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Install the arena skill from https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill by copying skills/arena into ~/.claude/skills/, then run /arena --quick on <task>. Expected output: one surviving solution, the attacks it survived, its card and the round count. Verify that every sub-agent wrote only inside .arena/ before you apply any change to the project.
```

### Caveat

The judges are Claude too, so the survivor is the strongest answer this tournament found, not a proof that it is correct.

## How to stress-test a fix for a flaky test with Arena Skill

Repo: [Jakeschincariol/arena-skill](https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Let 32 competitors attack and defend a proposed fix before you commit to it.

**Who it is for:** A developer whose test suite fails now and then on a file like tests/test_api.py and who wants a fix that holds up.

**The problem:** A single attempt at a fix can pass once and still miss the input that makes the test flaky.

**The outcome:** A surviving fix with the attacks that broke weaker candidates, so you can check the reasoning before you apply it.

### Steps

1. Clone and copy the skill as described in the install steps of the README
2. Estimate the cost first with `python3 skills/arena/bracket.py plan --agents 32` (inferred, check the README)
3. In Claude Code, run `/arena --agents 32 fix the flaky test in tests/test_api.py`
4. Review the attacks the winning fix survived, especially any MAJOR or FATAL ones
5. Run the test suite yourself, since the judges reason about the code but do not run it for you

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Use the arena skill from https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill to run /arena --agents 32 on the flaky test in <test file>. Expected output: the winning fix, the attacks it survived and the round count. Verify the result by running the project's own test suite before you apply the change.
```

### Caveat

The README does not say the skill runs your tests, so a surviving fix still needs a real test run from you.

## How to price a 100-agent run before you spend tokens with Arena Skill

Repo: [Jakeschincariol/arena-skill](https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Print the rounds, calls and waves for any agent count before the tournament starts.

**Who it is for:** A user watching token spend who wants to choose the agent count for a task that matters.

**The problem:** The default run of 100 agents makes many sub-agent calls, and the cost is not obvious until it is running.

**The outcome:** A table of rounds, sub-agent calls and waves for the chosen size, so you can pick the setting on purpose.

### Steps

1. Clone the repo and open a terminal in the folder that contains Arena Skill
2. Run `python3 skills/arena/bracket.py plan --agents 100` to see the full run (inferred, check the README)
3. Compare with `python3 skills/arena/bracket.py plan --agents 16` for the everyday setting (inferred, check the README)
4. Pick a size and run `/arena --agents N <task>` in Claude Code (inferred, check the README)
5. Keep `--quick` for everyday tasks and save the full run for the answer that matters

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the repo at https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill, run python3 skills/arena/bracket.py plan --agents <N> and report the rounds, sub-agent calls and waves. Expected output: the bracket table that the command prints. Verify that the command writes no files before you start a real run.
```

### Caveat

The plan command shows call counts only, and the README says the real token bill grows with the size of the task.

## How to change the rubric and strategy cards for your team with Arena Skill

Repo: [Jakeschincariol/arena-skill](https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Edit the five judging criteria and the strategy list, then run the arena with your rules.

**Who it is for:** A team lead who wants judges to weigh criteria the way their work does, such as more weight on robustness or on specificity.

**The problem:** The default rubric and strategy cards suit general tasks but may not match how a team judges a good answer.

**The outcome:** A customised rubric.md and strategies.json that the arena uses in its next run.

### Steps

1. Clone the repo and open skills/arena/rubric.md
2. Change the five criteria and their weights to match your team
3. Edit skills/arena/strategies.json to add or remove reasoning modes, workflows and strategies
4. Run `python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -v` to check the dealer and bracket still pass
5. Run `/arena --quick <task>` in Claude Code and confirm the judges use your rubric (inferred, check the README)

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the repo https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill, edit skills/arena/rubric.md to reweight the five criteria as <your weights>, then run python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -v. Expected output: a passing test run. Verify that the weights in rubric.md still add up to the total the bracket expects before you run the arena.
```

### Caveat

The README says the rubric and strategies are there to edit, but it does not say whether the tests check the weights, so verify the totals yourself.
