## How to import one Douyin video or image post into Obsidian with Douyin to Obsidian

Repo: [llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian](https://github.com/llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Send one Douyin link to /dy in cc-connect and get a sourced knowledge note in your vault.

**Who it is for:** A knowledge worker who saves a useful Douyin video or image post and wants its content as a note in their own Obsidian vault.

**The problem:** Watching a short video and copying its key points by hand is slow, and the content is hard to search later.

**The outcome:** A structured Obsidian note with the original work link, transcribed or OCR-checked content, and an entry in the import log.

### Steps

1. Run `xcode-select --install` if Command Line Tools are not installed yet.
2. Clone the repository with `git clone https://github.com/llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian.git` and enter the folder with `cd douyin-to-obsidian`.
3. Set DY_PYTHON, DY_WORKSPACE, DY_VAULT and DY_PROFILE to your absolute paths, then run scripts/install.py with --workspace, --vault and --browser-profile as shown in section 3.
4. Run `"$DY_WORKSPACE/.claude/skills/douyin-to-obsidian/.venv/bin/python" -B "$DY_WORKSPACE/.claude/skills/douyin-to-obsidian/scripts/doctor.py"` and confirm ok is true. (inferred, check the README)
5. In a new cc-connect session in that workspace, send `/dy <douyin-link>` with the video or image post link. (inferred, check the README)

```text
Using the repo llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian, install the /dy skill into the cc-connect workspace at <workspace path> with the vault at <vault path>, then run doctor. Once doctor reports ok true, import the Douyin work at <douyin-link> and report the new note path. Verify that the note contains the original work link and that the import log has a new entry.
```

### Caveat

Only titles, silent tracks or missing image pages do not produce a note, and public videos may still fail due to platform limits, network or permissions.

## How to sync a Douyin favorites folder into your vault with Douyin to Obsidian

Repo: [llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian](https://github.com/llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Name a favorites folder in /dy and import only the works not yet in your vault.

**Who it is for:** A researcher or learner who keeps study material in a Douyin favorites folder and wants it organized in Obsidian over time.

**The problem:** A favorites folder grows with many works, and re-importing everything each time wastes time and creates duplicates.

**The outcome:** New favorites are written as notes, existing notes stay unchanged, and failed links are listed with a retry command.

### Steps

1. Complete the install and doctor steps in section 3 and 4 of the README so the /dy command is available in your workspace.
2. Send `/dy --list` in a new cc-connect session to see favorites folder names, IDs and counts without importing.
3. Send `/dy <exact folder name>` using the exact name from the list, or `/dy 收藏夹ID:<numeric ID>` if names repeat. (inferred, check the README)
4. Review the failure report for each unavailable work and send its retry_command only when you decide to retry.
5. Open your vault and check the new notes in the knowledge directory and the import log entries.

```text
Using the repo llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian, list the favorites folders available through /dy --list, then import only the new works from the folder named <folder name>. Report how many works were added, how many were skipped as duplicates and each failed link. Verify that no existing note was overwritten by checking the vault for unchanged files.
```

### Caveat

An empty or failing favorites read does not prove the account or network is working, and public access to a video does not guarantee access to a private favorites folder.

Risk, credentials: Private favorites require the configured Chrome profile to be logged in to Douyin, so the skill uses that account session locally.

## How to import several Douyin links in one /dy command with Douyin to Obsidian

Repo: [llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian](https://github.com/llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Send multiple Douyin links at once, merge duplicates, and update the vault in one run.

**Who it is for:** A content curator who collects several Douyin links on one topic and wants them processed together into a single knowledge update.

**The problem:** Handling each link in a separate chat message is tedious, and the same work can be pasted twice.

**The outcome:** One batch that processes the listed works, merges repeated ones, and reports each result, with existing notes left as they are.

### Steps

1. Complete the install and doctor steps in section 3 and 4 of the README in your cc-connect workspace.
2. Open a new cc-connect session in that workspace.
3. Send `/dy <douyin-link-one> <douyin-link-two>` with the links separated by spaces, and keep links and favorites names in separate messages. (inferred, check the README)
4. Read the final Chinese report to confirm which works became notes and which failed with a retry_command.
5. Open the knowledge index and import log in your vault to confirm the batch results.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the repo llm-xiaoye/douyin-to-obsidian, send one /dy command in the cc-connect workspace at <workspace path> containing these links: <link list>. Report the created notes, the merged duplicates and any failures with their retry commands. Verify that the knowledge index and import log in <vault path> were updated.
```

### Caveat

The skill does not retry indefinitely, so failed links need your decision to retry, and it does not write notes for works with only a title or missing material.
