# AI use cases for Robo TTT (lucidrains/robo_ttt)

Repo: [lucidrains/robo_ttt](https://github.com/lucidrains/robo_ttt) | Use cases: 3 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/lucidrains-robo-ttt/

robo_ttt is a PyTorch implementation of RoboTTT (Jiang et al., Stanford and Nvidia), providing test-time training wrappers and memory modules for robot policy models, including optional next-latent forward dynamics.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to add a test-time training memory to a model with Robo TTT

Repo: [lucidrains/robo_ttt](https://github.com/lucidrains/robo_ttt) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Wrap attended action chunks with TTTWrapper and an MLP memory in a few lines of PyTorch.

**Who it is for:** A robotics researcher who wants to try RoboTTT ideas in an existing policy.

**The problem:** Reimplementing a new paper's method from scratch is slow.

**The outcome:** A working TTT layer returning outputs and next fast weights with matching shapes.

### Steps

1. Install with `pip install robo-ttt`
2. Build a 2-layer MLP memory and wrap it in MemoryKeyValueBind
3. Create TTTWrapper(512, memory = memory)
4. Pass action chunks and check the output shape

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Install lucidrains/robo_ttt, run the basic MemoryKeyValueBind plus TTTWrapper example on random tensors of shape (2, 5, 4, 512), and confirm the output shape matches the input.
```

### Caveat

It is an unofficial implementation of the paper, so verify results against the original work.

## How to wrap a robot policy model with RoboTTT with Robo TTT

Repo: [lucidrains/robo_ttt](https://github.com/lucidrains/robo_ttt) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Use the full RoboTTT wrapper around a policy such as MimicVideo.

**Who it is for:** An ML engineer comparing policies with and without test-time training.

**The problem:** Integrating TTT into a full policy pipeline needs glue code.

**The outcome:** A policy wrapped with RoboTTT ready for training experiments.

### Steps

1. Install robo-ttt
2. Instantiate your policy model, for example MimicVideo
3. Wrap it with RoboTTT as in the README
4. Run a forward pass and a loss step

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Wrap a MimicVideo policy with RoboTTT from lucidrains/robo_ttt, run one forward and backward pass on dummy data, and confirm gradients flow.
```

### Caveat

MimicVideo is a separate model; the README shows wrapping it, not training it.

## How to supervise actions with next-latent prediction with Robo TTT

Repo: [lucidrains/robo_ttt](https://github.com/lucidrains/robo_ttt) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Enable predict_next_latent so action generation is supervised by next-state representation prediction.

**Who it is for:** A researcher testing forward dynamics without pixel reconstruction.

**The problem:** Pixel reconstruction losses are expensive.

**The outcome:** A policy that also predicts the next latent state during training and rollout.

### Steps

1. Install robo-ttt
2. Set predict_next_latent = True and designate state_arg
3. Tune next_latent_predictor_kwargs for loss weighting
4. Request the predicted next latent during rollout sampling

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In robo_ttt, enable predict_next_latent with a state_arg, train for a few steps on dummy data, and report the dynamics loss. Confirm rollout returns the predicted next latent.
```

### Caveat

This option follows Xu et al., 2026, which is separate from the RoboTTT paper.
