# AI use cases for Loadout (migsilva89/loadout)

Repo: [migsilva89/loadout](https://github.com/migsilva89/loadout) | Use cases: 3 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/migsilva89-loadout/

Loadout is a native macOS app that inventories the skills, slash commands, subagents, plugins and MCP servers your coding assistants load, shows how often each one actually fires, and edits the ones you own.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to find the skills and MCP servers you never use with Loadout

Repo: [migsilva89/loadout](https://github.com/migsilva89/loadout) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

See real fire counts from session logs so you can prune what your assistants load for nothing.

**Who it is for:** A developer whose agent context is bloated by dozens of installed skills.

**The problem:** You cannot tell which installed skills ever activate.

**The outcome:** Usage counts, last-fired dates and project counts for every item.

### Steps

1. Install with `brew install --cask migsilva89/loadout/loadout`
2. Open Loadout and let it read every assistant on the machine
3. Sort by usage
4. Remove or disable items that never fire

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Open migsilva89/loadout, list the ten least used skills and MCP servers with their last fired date, and recommend which to remove. Note any marked unsupported rather than zero.
```

### Caveat

Some history formats cannot prove activations, and Loadout marks those unsupported instead of showing zero.

## How to see exactly what your agent loads in a project folder with Loadout

Repo: [migsilva89/loadout](https://github.com/migsilva89/loadout) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Pick a folder and see every personal, project and plugin item an assistant would see there.

**Who it is for:** A developer debugging why an agent behaves differently in one repository.

**The problem:** Project-level and personal configs mix invisibly.

**The outcome:** One list of everything active for that folder, marked by owner.

### Steps

1. Install Loadout
2. Choose Project scope and select the folder
3. Review the Everything list
4. Edit the items you own

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using Loadout's project scope on <folder>, list every skill, command and MCP server an assistant would load there and its owner. Flag duplicates between personal and project scope.
```

### Caveat

It edits only items you own, not those installed by plugins.

## How to build the app from source to audit it with Loadout

Repo: [migsilva89/loadout](https://github.com/migsilva89/loadout) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Clone and build the Swift app yourself instead of installing a binary.

**Who it is for:** A security-conscious developer who wants to read the code before granting access to session logs.

**The problem:** The app reads private assistant session logs.

**The outcome:** A locally built app you have reviewed.

### Steps

1. Run `git clone https://github.com/migsilva89/loadout.git`
2. Run `./Scripts/build-app.sh` inside the folder
3. Open it with `open dist/Loadout.app`
4. Check the inventory matches the installed build

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Clone migsilva89/loadout, build it with `./Scripts/build-app.sh`, and open dist/Loadout.app. Confirm the build succeeded and report the macOS version used.
```

### Caveat

Requires macOS 15 or later.
