## How to install Prismantis and pick a theme for Claude Code with Prismantis

Repo: [NahumLitvin/prismantis](https://github.com/NahumLitvin/prismantis) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Add two plugin commands, then choose one of 15 palettes or mono from drawn samples.

**Who it is for:** A Claude Code user whose replies are hard to scan because tables, code and tool calls print as plain text.

**The problem:** Claude Code prints tables, mermaid source and tool calls as plain text, which makes long replies slow to read.

**The outcome:** Replies draw with colored tables, code headers and quiet tool rows in a theme you chose.

### Steps

1. Update Claude Code to version 2.1.287 or later.
2. In Claude Code, run `/plugin marketplace add NahumLitvin/prismantis`.
3. Run `/plugin install prismantis@prismantis`.
4. Run `/prismantis setup` and pick a theme and styles from the drawn samples; Enter saves each step.
5. Run `/prismantis demo` to see the main features in one tour.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In Claude Code, add the marketplace NahumLitvin/prismantis, install prismantis@prismantis, then run /prismantis setup and save a theme for <user name>. Expected output: a reply with a colored table header and a code header row with a copy button. Verify by asking for a short markdown table and checking that the header draws in the chosen theme color.
```

### Caveat

The plugin changes how replies are drawn, and the README says running /plugin to turn it off brings Claude Code's own renderer back.

## How to draw a flowchart or chart inside a Claude Code reply with Prismantis

Repo: [NahumLitvin/prismantis](https://github.com/NahumLitvin/prismantis) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Have Claude answer with a mermaid diagram that draws as colored text, then copy it as art or markdown.

**Who it is for:** An engineer who wants to explain a process, service flow or data pipeline to a teammate from inside a Claude Code session.

**The problem:** Claude Code prints mermaid as source, so the flow is hard to read without rendering it elsewhere.

**The outcome:** A flowchart, sequence diagram, bar chart or pie chart appears in the reply and can be copied as text art.

### Steps

1. Install Prismantis as described in its README and confirm it is active with `/prismantis`.
2. Ask Claude for the flow, for example: explain the request path of this service as a mermaid flowchart.
3. Check that the mermaid block draws as colored text art and fits the terminal width.
4. Use the `⧉ art` copy button to copy the drawn text, or `⧉ md` to copy the markdown.
5. If the diagram is wider than the window or over 80 lines, shorten the question and ask again, since the README says those stay as code.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the NahumLitvin/prismantis plugin in Claude Code, ask Claude to explain <process name> as a mermaid flowchart. Expected output: a colored text diagram with one color per box, not raw mermaid source. Verify that the diagram fits the terminal width and that the copy button on the diagram works.
```

### Caveat

Diagrams that are too wide for the window or longer than 80 lines stay as code, so large systems need to be split into smaller questions.

## How to get a timeline or before-and-after picture in a reply with Prismantis

Repo: [NahumLitvin/prismantis](https://github.com/NahumLitvin/prismantis) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Use figure blocks to draw position-based pictures such as timelines, screen layouts and before-and-after comparisons.

**Who it is for:** A developer or team lead who needs to explain a race condition, a rollout timeline or a layout change in a Claude Code session.

**The problem:** Words alone make it hard to show when things happen relative to each other, such as a timeout racing a retry.

**The outcome:** Claude builds a figure in the theme colors that shows the timing or layout as written, and the source can be copied.

### Steps

1. Install Prismantis and run `/prismantis setup` to choose a theme.
2. Ask Claude to explain the sequence as a figure, for example: show the timeout and retry timing as a figure.
3. Check that the figure draws with its colored roles, such as warn for a failure and ok for a healthy step.
4. If the block shows as code, read the dim line above it, which names the glyph or markup problem to fix.
5. Use `⧉ source` to copy the block as Claude wrote it, or `⧉ art` to copy the drawn text.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
With the NahumLitvin/prismantis plugin active in Claude Code, ask Claude to show <scenario> as a figure block. Expected output: a text picture drawn in theme colors with no raw markup. Verify that a role such as warn or ok colors the right run and that the copy source button returns the markdown block.
```

### Caveat

Figure frames are not checked, so a box that is slightly off still draws as Claude typed it, and the reply may need a second pass to align it.

## How to show LaTeX formulas as typeset images in Claude Code with Prismantis

Repo: [NahumLitvin/prismantis](https://github.com/NahumLitvin/prismantis) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Install RaTeX's renderer, turn on latex, and draw display math as images in kitty or Ghostty.

**Who it is for:** A researcher, student or engineer who works with formulas in Claude Code and uses kitty or Ghostty.

**The problem:** Formulas in Claude Code replies show as raw LaTeX text, which is hard to read.

**The outcome:** Display math draws as a typeset image in the theme's diagram color, and its copy button copies the LaTeX source.

### Steps

1. Run `gh release download -R erweixin/RaTeX -p 'ratex-cli-*-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz'` and pick the archive for your platform.
2. Run `tar -xzf ratex-cli-*.tar.gz`.
3. Run `mkdir -p ~/.local/bin` and then `install ratex-cli-*/render ~/.local/bin/ratex-render`.
4. Set the `latex` option to `true` in the Prismantis configuration, then run `/reload` in the session. (inferred, check the README)
5. Ask Claude for a formula in `$$` form and confirm it draws as an image in kitty or Ghostty.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
On this machine, download the RaTeX ratex-cli archive for <platform>, install the file as ratex-render on the PATH, set the prismantis latex option to true, then run /reload in Claude Code. Expected output: a display formula drawn as an image. Verify that the test formula comes back and that the formula's copy button copies LaTeX text.
```

### Caveat

LaTeX images only draw in kitty and Ghostty outside tmux, and everywhere else formulas stay as text in a math block.

Risk, remote script: The steps download and install a binary from a GitHub release, so check the source and archive name before you run them.

## How to apply Prismantis styling to Codex output with Prismantis

Repo: [NahumLitvin/prismantis](https://github.com/NahumLitvin/prismantis) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Follow the Codex guide to get themed code, tables and diagrams in Codex sessions.

**Who it is for:** A developer who uses Codex and wants the same colored tables, code and diagrams that Prismantis gives Claude Code.

**The problem:** Codex output has the same plain-text tables and code blocks, which are harder to scan in a terminal.

**The outcome:** Codex replies show themed code, tables and diagrams, with the same session note.

### Steps

1. Open codex/README.md in the Prismantis repository.
2. Follow its install steps for Codex.
3. Check the list of what works today and the two Codex issues it waits on for parity.
4. Start a Codex session and ask for a markdown table and a code block to confirm the theme colors.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Read codex/README.md in the NahumLitvin/prismantis repository, install prismantis for Codex as that file describes, then start a Codex session and request a markdown table. Expected output: a table with a themed header row. Verify the output against the list of what works today in that file.
```

### Caveat

The README says Codex has parity gaps that depend on two open Codex issues, so not every Claude Code feature works there yet.
