A terminal job board CLI that lets coding agents search, pull, and judge worldwide white-collar job postings.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to judge job postings against your resume with Pinloop CLI

Repo: [pinloop-ai/pinloop-cli](https://github.com/pinloop-ai/pinloop-cli) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Have your coding agent score matching postings against your resume and preferences.

**Who it is for:** A job seeker who wants to find roles that fit their background without reading hundreds of postings by hand.

**The problem:** Job boards return many postings, and most do not fit the candidate's experience or preferences.

**The outcome:** A shortlist of postings, each judged against the resume and preference files you gave Pinloop.

### Steps

1. Run `npm install -g pinloop` (Node 22 or newer is required).
2. Run `pinloop login` and finish sign-in in the browser.
3. Run `pinloop welcome` and follow the instructions your coding agent shows.
4. Give your coding agent your resume and any preference files so Pinloop can hold them.
5. Ask your agent to search postings with words and filters, then judge the matches against your resume.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the pinloop-cli repo, search Pinloop for postings matching <target role and location>, then judge each match against my resume and preference files. Expected output: a ranked shortlist with a short reason for each score. Verify that each shortlisted posting links back to its original listing.
```

### Caveat

The Free plan allows 5 postings pulled per day and 150 postings judged through LLM calls per month, so large searches may need the Pro plan or your own agent.

## How to count matching postings before pulling them with Pinloop CLI

Repo: [pinloop-ai/pinloop-cli](https://github.com/pinloop-ai/pinloop-cli) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Check how many postings match a search before spending your daily pull allowance.

**Who it is for:** A person researching demand for a role, sector, or location who wants a quick count before collecting any data.

**The problem:** Pulling postings uses a limited allowance, so it is wasteful to pull results without knowing how many match.

**The outcome:** A count of matching postings for your search terms and filters, with nothing pulled yet.

### Steps

1. Run `npm install -g pinloop` (Node 22 or newer is required).
2. Run `pinloop login` and finish sign-in in the browser.
3. Ask your coding agent to search Pinloop with your words and filters and report the number of matches.
4. Adjust the words or filters and repeat the count until the number fits your goal.
5. Pull only the postings you need, keeping within your plan limits.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the pinloop-cli repo, search Pinloop for <keywords and filters> and report only the number of matching postings, without pulling any. Expected output: one count per search tried. Verify that no postings were pulled by checking the plan usage before and after.
```

### Caveat

The README describes this count feature but does not show the exact command, so the agent should check `pinloop guide` for the search syntax.

## How to schedule automatic scans for new postings with Pinloop CLI

Repo: [pinloop-ai/pinloop-cli](https://github.com/pinloop-ai/pinloop-cli) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Set a Pro routine that saves new matching postings on Pinloop's servers.

**Who it is for:** An active job seeker who wants new matching postings saved for them without rerunning searches each day.

**The problem:** Checking job boards by hand every day is slow, and a laptop must stay on for local scripts to run.

**The outcome:** Matching postings are scanned and saved automatically on a schedule or as new postings arrive, even when your laptop is closed.

### Steps

1. Run `npm install -g pinloop` (Node 22 or newer is required).
2. Run `pinloop login` and finish sign-in in the browser.
3. Run `pinloop upgrade` to move to the Pro plan.
4. Run `pinloop guide` and ask your coding agent to find how to set a routine for your search. (inferred, check the README)
5. Choose whether the routine runs on a schedule or when new postings come in, then confirm it saved results.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the pinloop-cli repo, read the output of `pinloop guide`, then set up a Pinloop routine that scans for <target role> on <schedule or new-posting trigger>. Expected output: a saved routine ID and a first set of saved postings. Verify that the routine is listed as active and that the saved postings match the search.
```

### Caveat

Routines require the Pro plan and the README does not show the routine command, so confirm the exact steps with `pinloop guide` before relying on the schedule.
