Roqer is an open-source desktop AI agent for Roblox Studio that builds, scripts, and playtests a place using your ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini subscription or a custom API.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to build and script a Roblox feature with an AI agent with Roqer

Repo: [S4US/Roqer](https://github.com/S4US/Roqer) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Describe a feature in Roqer and the agent builds and scripts it in your Studio place.

**Who it is for:** A Roblox creator on Windows who has a place open in Studio and wants a new mechanic, object, or system built without writing every script by hand.

**The problem:** Writing instances, properties, and scripts by hand for each new feature takes time, and checking each change in Studio is slow.

**The outcome:** The agent reads and edits instances, properties, and scripts in your place, shows each script change as a diff, and reports what it built.

### Steps

1. Run `git clone https://github.com/S4US/Roqer.git` and then `cd Roqer`.
2. Run `npm install`, then `npm run build:all`, then `npm run start:desktop`.
3. Open or restart Roblox Studio so it loads the Roqer plugin, then open your place.
4. In Roqer, pick a model and describe the feature you want, such as a door that opens on a button press.
5. Review each script change shown as a diff and approve it, or set the agent to a more restrictive mode first.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Roqer repo at <repo path>, start the desktop app with `npm run start:desktop`, open the place <place name> in Roblox Studio, and ask the agent to build <feature description>. Expected output: the instances and scripts created or changed, with each script diff listed. Verify that a script edit was not refused because the script changed after the agent read it.
```

### Caveat

Roqer needs Windows, Roblox Studio, and Node.js 20 or newer, and macOS is untested.

## How to use Roqer's Studio tools from Claude Code with Roqer

Repo: [S4US/Roqer](https://github.com/S4US/Roqer) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Register Roqer's Studio MCP server so Claude Code can inspect and edit your place.

**Who it is for:** A developer who already works in Claude Code and wants it to read and change a Roblox Studio place directly.

**The problem:** Switching between a coding agent and Studio for every instance or script change breaks flow.

**The outcome:** Claude Code gets the Roqer Studio tools through MCP and can inspect and edit the open place, with each Studio call approved.

### Steps

1. Run `git clone https://github.com/S4US/Roqer.git`, then `cd Roqer`, then `npm install`, then `npm run build:all`.
2. Open or restart Roblox Studio so it loads the Roqer plugin, then open your place.
3. Run `claude mcp add robloxstudio -- node C:\path\to\Roqer\packages\robloxstudio-mcp\dist\index.js --auto-install-plugin --plugin-path C:\path\to\Roqer\studio-plugin\MCPPlugin.rbxmx`, replacing the C:\path\to\Roqer parts with your actual path.
4. Ask Claude Code to list the instances in your place and confirm the Studio tools respond.
5. For other clients or a read-only inspector edition, follow the MCP server guide linked in the README.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Roqer repo at <repo path>, register the robloxstudio MCP server with Claude Code using the README command, then ask Claude Code to list the top-level instances in the open place <place name>. Expected output: a list of instances from the Studio place returned through the MCP tools. Verify that the Roqer plugin is loaded in Studio before the call.
```

### Caveat

The MCP command in the README uses Windows paths, so adjust them to where you cloned Roqer.

## How to create and test an R15 character animation with AI with Roqer

Repo: [S4US/Roqer](https://github.com/S4US/Roqer) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Ask for a run, wave, or dance and the agent makes, checks, and playtests an R15 animation.

**Who it is for:** A Roblox creator who needs a custom emote or movement for player characters and does not have an animator on hand.

**The problem:** Making an R15 animation, publishing it, assigning it to characters, and confirming it plays usually takes several separate tools.

**The outcome:** The agent creates the animation, checks the motion before Studio sees it, publishes it as the place owner, sets it on player characters, and confirms it plays in a playtest.

### Steps

1. Complete the setup from the Roqer repo: `npm install`, `npm run build:all`, and `npm run start:desktop`.
2. Open or restart Roblox Studio so it loads the Roqer plugin, then open your place.
3. In Roqer, ask for an animation such as a run, a wave, or a dance.
4. Preview the motion in 3D in the chat before it goes to Studio.
5. Confirm the playtest check that the animation plays on your characters.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Roqer repo at <repo path>, ask the Roqer agent to create a <animation name> R15 animation for the place <place name>. Expected output: a published animation applied to player characters and a playtest check that it plays. Verify the motion in the 3D preview before accepting the result.
```

### Caveat

The agent publishes animations as the place's owner, so confirm the place ownership before running this use case.

## How to keep AI-made Roblox edits in git with Rojo with Roqer

Repo: [S4US/Roqer](https://github.com/S4US/Roqer) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Link a Rojo-synced place so agent edits save to project files and show in git diff.

**Who it is for:** A Roblox team that stores its place source in a Rojo project under git and wants AI changes reviewed like any other code change.

**The problem:** AI edits made inside Studio are hard to review, track, or revert when the project lives in git.

**The outcome:** Script edits, new scripts and models, removals, and renames save to your Rojo project files, so they appear in git diff.

### Steps

1. Set up Roqer with `npm install`, `npm run build:all`, and `npm run start:desktop`.
2. Open your Rojo-synced place in Roblox Studio with the Roqer plugin loaded.
3. Link the Rojo-synced place in Roqer, following the Rojo projects guide in the docs.
4. Ask the agent for a script change in the linked place.
5. Run `git diff` in your project folder to review the saved file changes.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Roqer repo at <repo path>, link the Rojo-synced place <place name> in Roqer, then ask the agent to make the change <change description>. Expected output: the changed script files in the Rojo project folder, visible in git diff. Verify that git diff shows the same change the agent reported.
```

### Caveat

The README does not give the exact steps for linking a Rojo place, so follow docs/rojo.md for that part.
