Repo: [Sateezg/codex-bridge](https://github.com/Sateezg/codex-bridge) | Use cases: 4 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/sateezg-codex-bridge/

A Claude Code plugin that adds image generation (gpt-image-2) and GPT-5 subagents by calling the Codex CLI through your existing ChatGPT login, with no OpenAI API key.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to generate a project image from a text prompt with Codex Bridge

Repo: [Sateezg/codex-bridge](https://github.com/Sateezg/codex-bridge) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Create an icon, mockup, or hero image with gpt-image-2 and save it to your repo.

**Who it is for:** A developer building a landing page or app who needs a new image that does not exist yet.

**The problem:** Claude Code cannot generate images, and asking a chat window for one means copying files by hand.

**The outcome:** A PNG file saved at a path you chose, with the path printed by the wrapper.

### Steps

1. Install the Codex CLI with `npm i -g @openai/codex` or `brew install codex`.
2. Sign in with `codex login`, then check it with `codex login status`.
3. Install the plugin with `/plugin marketplace add Sateezg/codex-bridge` and `/plugin install codex-bridge@codex-bridge`.
4. Run `codex-imagegen "flat vector rocket icon, #2563EB on white, 2px stroke, minimal" ./rocket.png`.
5. Open the PNG to check it, then run again with `--ref ./rocket.png` to adjust the style. (inferred, check the README)

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the Sateezg/codex-bridge plugin setup, run codex-imagegen with the prompt "<prompt>" and save the result to <output-path>.png. Report the absolute path the wrapper prints. Verify that the file exists and opens as a PNG before reporting success.
```

### Caveat

Image turns use ChatGPT plan quota roughly 3 to 5 times faster than text turns, and setting OPENAI_API_KEY switches Codex to API billing.

## How to build a matching favicon and OG card set with Codex Bridge

Repo: [Sateezg/codex-bridge](https://github.com/Sateezg/codex-bridge) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Generate one icon family with a shared style and derive all sizes from a master.

**Who it is for:** A developer launching a project who needs favicons, app icons, and a social preview card that match.

**The problem:** Asking for each asset separately produces icons with different palettes, stroke weights, and margins.

**The outcome:** A set of favicon and OG card files that share one style, saved in your project.

### Steps

1. Complete the install steps for the Codex CLI, `codex login`, and the plugin.
2. Install ImageMagick so the size variants can be made locally. (inferred, check the README)
3. In Claude Code, ask: set up favicons and an OG card for this project.
4. Generate a large square master with `codex-imagegen` and pass earlier icons with `--ref` so the style carries over.
5. Review each output image and ask Claude to regenerate any that miss the style.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the Sateezg/codex-bridge plugin setup, generate a square master icon for <project-name> with codex-imagegen, then create favicon and OG card sizes from it. Report the list of output file paths. Verify that every file exists and that the set uses one palette.
```

### Caveat

Custom sizes must meet Codex limits, so for sizes such as a 1200x630 OG card the plugin generates a large master and resamples it locally.

## How to delegate a repo-wide rename to GPT-5 with Codex Bridge

Repo: [Sateezg/codex-bridge](https://github.com/Sateezg/codex-bridge) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Hand mechanical edits across many files to Codex, then review the diff in Claude.

**Who it is for:** A developer who needs the same change applied across dozens of files and wants to keep that output out of the Claude context.

**The problem:** Mechanical edits across many files fill the Claude context and use Claude quota.

**The outcome:** The edits are applied as a reviewable diff, and Claude checks the result before you accept it.

### Steps

1. Complete the install steps for the Codex CLI, `codex login`, and the plugin.
2. Make sure your working tree is clean so the changes land as a clear diff.
3. In Claude Code, ask: rename useSession to useAuthSession across the whole repo.
4. When Claude offers to delegate, agree so codex-implementer can edit the files.
5. Run `git diff` and review the changes before you commit. (inferred, check the README)

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the Sateezg/codex-bridge plugin setup, use codex-implementer to rename <old-name> to <new-name> across <repo-path>. Report the list of changed files. Verify with a diff that only the intended identifiers changed before reporting success.
```

### Caveat

Only codex-implementer writes to your files, and only after you agree, so review the diff before committing.

## How to run a GPT-5 review of a branch diff with Codex Bridge

Repo: [Sateezg/codex-bridge](https://github.com/Sateezg/codex-bridge) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 15 minutes | Basis: From the README

Pipe a branch diff into Codex and get a single final answer back.

**Who it is for:** A developer about to open a pull request who wants a second look at the branch from GPT-5.

**The problem:** Reviewing a large diff by hand takes time, and running it through a chat window loses the repo context.

**The outcome:** A written review of the branch diff, printed as Codex's final answer.

### Steps

1. Complete the install steps for the Codex CLI, `codex login`, and the plugin.
2. Open a terminal in the repo that has the branch you want reviewed.
3. Run `git diff main...HEAD | codex-run -C . --timeout 1200 -`.
4. Read the final answer, then ask a follow-up with `codex-run -C . -r "now show me the minimal patch"`.
5. Check each finding against the code before acting on it.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the Sateezg/codex-bridge plugin setup, pipe the diff of <branch> against main into codex-run with -C . and --timeout 1200, and report Codex's final answer. Verify that each finding names a real file and line in the repo before reporting it.
```

### Caveat

Codex runs in read-only mode by default, and a long review can take 10 or more minutes, so the example sets --timeout 1200.
