This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to get daily alerts when shortlisted companies post a match with Jobradar

Repo: [suvamneog/jobradar](https://github.com/suvamneog/jobradar) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: about 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Set a shortlist of companies and receive email plus desktop alerts when a scored opening clears your threshold.

**Who it is for:** A job seeker with a few target employers in mind who is tired of refreshing career pages each morning.

**The problem:** Career pages change without notice, and checking several boards every day takes time and still misses new postings.

**The outcome:** You receive a daily alert, by email and desktop notification, only when a shortlisted company opens a role that scores at or above your minimum.

### Steps

1. Run `git clone https://github.com/suvamneog/jobradar.git` and then `cd jobradar`.
2. Run `./install.sh` to set up the project and register the launchd jobs.
3. Put your resume PDF in the folder and set `resume_path` to it in `config.yaml`.
4. Run `cp run.example.sh run.sh`, then fill in your LLM key and Gmail App Password.
5. Set `alerts.companies` and `alerts.min_score` in `config.yaml`, then run `./run.sh test` to confirm the test email arrives.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the jobradar repo, set up the project, put <resume.pdf> in place as the resume, and set alerts.companies in config.yaml to <company list>. Run ./run.sh test and confirm a test email is sent, then report the result. Verify that the test email arrives in the inbox before reporting success.
```

### Caveat

Alerts only run on a Mac because the daily schedule is registered through launchd during install.

Risk, credentials: Your LLM key and Gmail App Password are stored in run.sh, so keep that file private and do not commit it to a public repo.

## How to receive a ranked weekly digest of new job openings with Jobradar

Repo: [suvamneog/jobradar](https://github.com/suvamneog/jobradar) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: about 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Get one Monday email listing the week's new postings across all tracked companies, sorted by resume fit.

**Who it is for:** A job seeker who wants a single weekly review of everything new across many companies instead of daily interruptions.

**The problem:** Scanning dozens of job boards each week is slow, and a flat list of openings does not show which ones fit your background.

**The outcome:** A Monday email ranked by score, covering the new postings found across the 56 tracked companies, with closed jobs hidden.

### Steps

1. Complete the setup steps: run `./install.sh`, add your resume path, and create `run.sh` from `run.example.sh` with your keys.
2. Run `./run.sh scan` to fetch the boards, find new openings, and score them.
3. Run `./run.sh digest` to send the weekly email now and confirm the layout.
4. Leave the weekly job in place, since `install.sh` schedules the digest for Mondays at 09:00.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the jobradar repo, run ./run.sh scan and then ./run.sh digest, and report how many new openings were scored and whether the digest email was sent. Verify that the digest email arrives and lists postings sorted by score.
```

### Caveat

The first full scan of about 3,400 jobs uses roughly 340K tokens, so check your provider's daily limit before running it.

## How to search and filter every scored job in a local web page with Jobradar

Repo: [suvamneog/jobradar](https://github.com/suvamneog/jobradar) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: about 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Open a local web UI at localhost:8765 to search and filter all tracked openings and their scores.

**Who it is for:** A job seeker who wants to explore the full list of openings by keyword, company, or score instead of reading emails.

**The problem:** Email digests show only a slice of openings, and there is no easy way to search the full set by hand.

**The outcome:** A browser view at http://localhost:8765 where you search and filter the complete set of tracked and scored jobs.

### Steps

1. Complete the setup with `./install.sh`, then create `run.sh` from `run.example.sh` and add your keys.
2. Run `./run.sh scan` so the job list is populated before you open the UI.
3. Start the interface with `./run-web.sh`.
4. Open http://localhost:8765 in your browser and use the search and filter controls.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the jobradar repo, run ./run.sh scan and then start the UI with ./run-web.sh. Report the local address and how many jobs appear in the web UI. Verify that http://localhost:8765 loads and shows scored openings.
```

### Caveat

The web UI runs locally on your machine, so it is only reachable from the computer where it was started.

## How to track a new employer by copying its careers URL details with Jobradar

Repo: [suvamneog/jobradar](https://github.com/suvamneog/jobradar) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: about 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Add a company to config.yaml using the board and slug taken from its careers URL, then scan it.

**Who it is for:** A job seeker who wants to follow an employer that is not in the default list of 56 companies.

**The problem:** The tracker only watches companies you add, and each company needs the right board type and slug to be read correctly.

**The outcome:** The new company appears in your scans and listings, and you can see its scored openings with `./run.sh list`.

### Steps

1. Open the company's careers page and note the board type and slug from the URL, using the examples in the README table.
2. Add an entry such as `{ name: 'Figma', board: greenhouse, slug: 'figma' }` under `companies` in `config.yaml`. (inferred, check the README)
3. Run `./run.sh scan` to fetch the new board and score its openings.
4. Run `./run.sh list` to see this week's finds in the terminal.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the jobradar repo, add <company name> with the correct board and slug to the companies list in config.yaml, then run ./run.sh scan and ./run.sh list. Report the board type and slug used and the number of openings found for that company. Verify that the company name appears in the list output.
```

### Caveat

The README lists the supported boards as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Workday, and Oracle Recruiting Cloud, so a company on another platform cannot be tracked.
