Repo: [tony3liu/eido](https://github.com/tony3liu/eido) | Use cases: 3 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/tony3liu-eido/

Eido is a macOS AI coding workspace, built on Zed and pi, for understanding code, working with an agent, and reviewing its changes.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to investigate a bug and review a proposed fix with Eido

Repo: [tony3liu/eido](https://github.com/tony3liu/eido) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45 minutes | Basis: From the README

Have Eido's agent explain a bug, propose a small fix, and suggest a check before you accept it.

**Who it is for:** A developer on an Apple Silicon Mac who hits a bug in code they did not write and needs a reviewed fix.

**The problem:** Tracing an unfamiliar bug takes time, and accepting agent edits without reviewing them is risky.

**The outcome:** A stated cause, a small set of proposed changes reviewed file by file, and a verification step before anything is kept.

### Steps

1. Download Eido-0.0.1-macos-arm64.dmg from the release page, open it, and drag Eido into Applications.
2. Launch Eido, open your project folder, and configure your model and authentication in global settings.
3. Reference the affected file with @ and describe the bug, asking for the cause, a small fix, and a way to check it.
4. Keep Agent Access set to Ask Before Actions while you learn the workflow, then inspect the proposed changes in the native review interface.
5. Accept only the changes that belong in your project and run the check the agent proposed.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Eido repo (tony3liu/eido) as the workspace, open the project at <project-folder> and ask the agent to explain the bug described in <bug-report> and propose a small fix with a way to check it. Expected output: a written cause, proposed file changes shown in the review interface, and a check the agent recommends. Verify that no change is accepted until it has been reviewed in the review interface.
```

### Caveat

Eido runs only on macOS with Apple Silicon, and the 0.0.1 build is not notarized by Apple, so macOS may block the first launch.

## How to resume an interrupted coding task with its context with Eido

Repo: [tony3liu/eido](https://github.com/tony3liu/eido) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Return to an earlier Eido task with its conversation and review context intact.

**Who it is for:** A developer who paused a multi-step change and needs to pick it up again without re-explaining the work.

**The problem:** Restarting a discussion with an agent from scratch wastes time and loses the reasoning behind earlier decisions.

**The outcome:** The earlier conversation and review context are back on screen, and the work continues from where it stopped.

### Steps

1. Launch Eido from Applications and open the project folder where the earlier task was started.
2. Open the earlier task from your task history.
3. Check the conversation and the review context shown for that task.
4. Send a follow-up message that states what remains to be done and what check should pass.
5. Review the new proposed changes before accepting any of them.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Eido repo (tony3liu/eido), reopen the earlier task named <task-name> in the project at <project-folder> and ask the agent to continue the unfinished step. Expected output: a short summary of the prior work and the next proposed changes. Verify that the summary matches the earlier conversation before accepting any change.
```

### Caveat

Recovery covers task state and supported file operations only, so some interrupted work may still need to be redone by hand.

## How to ask the agent to inspect a web page beside your code with Eido

Repo: [tony3liu/eido](https://github.com/tony3liu/eido) | Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 60 minutes | Basis: From the README

Have Eido's agent check how a page behaves while you work on the code behind it.

**Who it is for:** A web developer who needs to see how a page renders or behaves while editing the project that serves it.

**The problem:** Switching between a browser and the editor to compare page behavior with code slows down debugging.

**The outcome:** A written report from the agent on the page you named, with the related code open in the same workspace.

### Steps

1. Install Eido and configure your model and authentication in global settings.
2. Open the project folder that contains the page's code.
3. Set Agent Access and confirm that Browser Use is enabled for this task.
4. Ask the agent to inspect the page at <page-url> and report what it sees and where the related code lives.
5. Review the report and the proposed code changes before accepting them.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using the Eido repo (tony3liu/eido), open the project at <project-folder> and ask the agent to inspect the page at <page-url> using Browser Use, then report the visible problem and the code that produces it. Expected output: a short written report and any proposed code changes in the review interface. Verify that the page the agent inspected is the one you named.
```

### Caveat

Browser Use is listed as experimental and more complex browser workflows are still being refined, so results may vary between websites.

Risk, credentials: Browser Use is experimental, so avoid pages where you are signed in to sensitive accounts or where credentials are visible.
