Repo: [tshemsedinov/reslop](https://github.com/tshemsedinov/reslop) | Use cases: 5 | Page: https://dedupedai.com/use-cases/tshemsedinov-reslop/

reslop is a terminal tool that lets you review AI-generated code and changes, leave findings and a backlog, and hand a repair plan to a local agent.

This file holds every use case of this repo. Each one starts with a "## " heading and ends with its URL.

## How to review AI-written changes and run a repair plan in an agent with Reslop

Repo: [tshemsedinov/reslop](https://github.com/tshemsedinov/reslop) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 1 hour | Basis: From the README

Mark up uncommitted AI changes in Reslop, save the review as a plan, then let a local agent work through it.

**Who it is for:** A developer whose AI coding agent just changed several files in a local repo and who needs to check the diff before accepting it.

**The problem:** Generated changes are hard to judge in a raw diff, and feedback is easy to lose before the agent acts on it.

**The outcome:** A saved review in .plan/ with checkboxes that an agent works through, plus a list of what was fixed and what remains.

### Steps

1. Run `npm i -g reslop` once to install the tool.
2. Run `reslop` in the repository root to open the live dashboard of uncommitted changes.
3. Open the diff screen, leave findings and backlog items, and stage, unstage, or revert the blocks you do not want.
4. Check the saved review in `.plan/YYYY-MM-DD-NN.md` and confirm its frontmatter status is `editing`.
5. Start the plan in a local agent over ACP from Reslop, then check that the status moves to `partial` or `done`.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the reslop repository at <repo-path>, read the newest file in .plan/ with status editing and work through its unchecked items. Report which checkboxes you marked [x] and which items remain. Verify by confirming the frontmatter status is set to partial or done and no unchecked items were skipped silently.
```

### Caveat

The README lists agent commands that must be on PATH, and it does not say which agent handles a plan best, so test with your own agent first.

## How to review a GitHub PR or GitLab MR in a local terminal view with Reslop

Repo: [tshemsedinov/reslop](https://github.com/tshemsedinov/reslop) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Open a pull or merge request in Reslop to read its changes and leave findings before you merge.

**Who it is for:** A reviewer who has a PR or MR to check and prefers to read the diff and write findings in the terminal.

**The problem:** Reviewing in a browser tab splits attention between the diff and the notes that should drive fixes.

**The outcome:** The PR or MR diff open in Reslop, with your findings written to the local plan.

### Steps

1. Run `npm i -g reslop` once to install the tool.
2. Run `reslop https://github.com/metarhia/metacom/pull/555` as an example, replacing the URL with your own GitHub PR or GitLab MR link.
3. Read the changes in the diff screen and leave findings and backlog items.
4. Open the saved review in `.plan/` to confirm your findings were written.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using reslop in the repository at <repo-path>, open the pull request at <PR-URL> and list every finding saved to the newest .plan/ file. Report the count of findings and the file path. Verify that each finding names a file and line from the PR diff.
```

### Caveat

The README gives the PR and MR form of the command, but it does not say whether private repositories are supported without extra setup.

Risk, credentials: Reading a private GitHub or GitLab PR or MR may require access to that service, and the README does not describe how Reslop authenticates.

## How to import all GitHub issues into a local task backlog with Reslop

Repo: [tshemsedinov/reslop](https://github.com/tshemsedinov/reslop) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Pull a repository's issues into Reslop tasks so they sit next to the review plan.

**Who it is for:** A maintainer who wants open GitHub or GitLab issues visible in the same place as local review work.

**The problem:** Issues live in the hosting site, so planning a repair means switching between a browser and the terminal.

**The outcome:** Issues imported as tasks and into the local plan, ready to be ordered and sent to an agent.

### Steps

1. Run `npm i -g reslop` once to install the tool.
2. Run `reslop https://github.com/metarhia/metacom/issues` as an example, replacing the URL with your own repository's issues page.
3. Open the tasks area in the dashboard and review the imported items.
4. Check the local plan in `.plan/` for the issues you chose to keep.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In reslop for the repository at <repo-path>, import the issues from <issues-URL> and list the task titles added to the local plan. Report the number imported. Verify the count matches the open issue count shown on the hosting site.
```

### Caveat

The README says it imports all issues with the issues URL, but it does not state a limit or how closed issues are treated, so check the result against the site.

Risk, credentials: Importing issues from a private repository may need access to the hosting service, and the README does not explain how credentials are provided.

## How to shorten test and lint output so an agent reads only failures with Reslop

Repo: [tshemsedinov/reslop](https://github.com/tshemsedinov/reslop) | Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Wrap npm test and lint commands with Reslop so agents get failures and a short summary, not passing noise.

**Who it is for:** A developer who runs tests and lint through an AI agent and finds long passing output wastes context and hides the real errors.

**The problem:** Full test and lint logs are long, and the failing lines are easy to miss for both people and agents.

**The outcome:** A Markdown report of failures and diagnostics, with the raw log saved next to it for the agent to read when needed.

### Steps

1. Run `npm i -g reslop` once to install the tool.
2. Edit the scripts in package.json so each program is prefixed with `reslop t --` and steps are joined with `&&`, for example `"test": "reslop t -- npm run -s lint && reslop t -- node --test"`.
3. Run `npm test` in the repository. (inferred, check the README)
4. Open the report saved in `.log/` and check that it lists failures and a summary without passing results.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
In the repository at <repo-path>, run `npm test` and read the reduced report that reslop saves in .log/. Report each failure with its file and the raw log path. Verify that passing results are absent from the report and that the raw file in .log/ exists.
```

### Caveat

The README says the reduced report groups similar problems, but it does not show an example of the output, so compare it with the raw log on your first run.

## How to review one file's full history of changes in file-scope mode with Reslop

Repo: [tshemsedinov/reslop](https://github.com/tshemsedinov/reslop) | Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 30 minutes | Basis: From the README

Open a single file in Reslop to review it outside the diff, with editor mode.

**Who it is for:** A developer who wants to check one file an AI agent rewrote, not only the lines that changed.

**The problem:** A diff shows only changed lines, so context errors in the rest of the file are easy to miss.

**The outcome:** The whole file open for review with findings written to the local plan.

### Steps

1. Run `npm i -g reslop` once to install the tool.
2. Run `reslop path/file` with the path to the file you want to review.
3. Read the file in file-scope mode and leave findings with the editor mode.
4. Check the new entries in the newest file under `.plan/`.

### Prompt to paste into your agent

```text
Using reslop in the repository at <repo-path>, open the file <file-path> in file-scope review and list the findings you saved to the newest .plan/ file. Report the count and each finding's line. Verify that each line number falls inside the file.
```

### Caveat

The README describes file-scope mode in one line, so the exact editor behavior should be checked on a small file before relying on it for a large review.
