Who it is forSomeone who already runs Ollama or LM Studio and wants OpenJet's agent on top.
The problemDownloading another copy of the same model for a new tool wastes disk and setup time.
The outcomeOpenJet using a model served by Ollama, LM Studio or your own llama-server.
What you need first
- Linux with an NVIDIA RTX 30, 40 or 50 GPU with 24 GB+ and CUDA 12+ for the megakernel; other hardware uses llama.cpp
- Recommended: 14 GB+ VRAM or Apple silicon with 24 GB+; CPU-only works
- pipx
Steps
- Run
pipx install 'open-jet[cloud]' - Run
openjet --statusto find config.yaml - Add a model_profiles entry with runtime litellm, provider openai-compatible and your base_url, for example http://127.0.0.1:11434/v1 for Ollama
- Select it in OpenJet with /model and the profile name
- Note that OpenJet's hardware tuning and CUDA engine do not apply to external servers
Prompt for your agent
Configure L-Forster/open-jet to use my Ollama model <model> through a model_profiles entry in config.yaml, select it with /model, and run <task> in <repo>.
Caveat. This card is written from the L-Forster/open-jet README, not from a test run by Deduped. Before you start, make sure you have Linux with an NVIDIA RTX 30, 40 or 50 GPU with 24 GB+ and CUDA 12+ for the megakernel. Check the repo for newer instructions before you rely on these steps.
