Anthropic published a study of how AI is changing its own workforce. Entry-level workers fell from 27% to 9% of technical hires since early 2025.
Employees reported productivity gains from Claude. The report also says employees' agents logged about six times the hours of the people running them by August, and that human attention is becoming the bottleneck.
It is one company's data, but it is the lab that builds the tool, which makes the junior-hiring drop hard to dismiss.
Our take
The entry-level ladder is the first thing to bend. Expect other AI-heavy teams to show the same pattern.
