What you need first

  • Python 3.10 or later
  • An LLM provider, model, and API key for FLOWX_LLM_PROVIDER, FLOWX_LLM_MODEL, and FLOWX_LLM_API_KEY
  • A local MCP-capable agent client, or the Python SDK in your own script
  • A writable folder for FLOWX_DEFAULT_WORKSPACE

Steps

  1. Complete the venv and python -m pip install -e . setup from the Installation section.
  2. Start the server with flowx-a2a --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8001.
  3. Open http://127.0.0.1:8001/.well-known/agent-card.json to confirm the agent card is served.
  4. Send an A2A text message to the /a2a endpoint with the process description using the message/send method.
  5. Call tasks/get to read the task result and confirm the status is completed or failed.

Prompt for your agent

Use the FlowX A2A endpoint at http://127.0.0.1:8001/a2a to send a text message describing <process-description> with message/send. Poll tasks/get until the task finishes. Report the task status and the generated artifact paths, and verify that the task is completed only if every stage succeeded.

Caveat. The A2A adapter currently exposes non-streaming workflow building only, so a client has to wait for the task to finish rather than receive progress updates.
