How to save notes the agent raises when the topic comes up with Open Ghost

Write a reminder once and let the agent bring it back when a chat reaches that subject.

Who it is forA busy professional who keeps forgetting small follow-up tasks that come up during long chats.

The problemFollow-up items mentioned in a conversation get lost, and separate reminder tools are not tied to the work in progress.

The outcomeA note in the list beside the chat that the agent mentions at the right moment and asks whether to deal with now.

What you need first

  • A computer running Windows, macOS or Linux
  • A ChatGPT account sign-in, or an API key for OpenAI, Claude, DeepSeek or OpenRouter
  • Node.js 22 or newer, only if you build from the source code

Steps

  1. Install Open Ghost from the release links in the README.
  2. In any chat, type a note such as: Add to my notes: check my DMs on X today.
  3. Find the note in the list beside the chat to confirm it was saved.
  4. Continue a related conversation and wait for the agent to bring the note up and ask before acting on it.

Prompt for your agent

In OpenGhost from https://github.com/ANDRETRIPOL/OpenGhost, add the note '<note text>' and confirm it appears in the notes list beside the chat. Expected output: the saved note and, in a later related chat, a reply where the agent raises it and asks whether to act. Verify that the agent does not act on the note without asking.

Caveat. The README says the agent never acts on a note on its own, so you still need to confirm each follow-up it proposes.
