Remote script. The quick start pipes a script from Pairfob.com directly into sh, so review the installer or verify it before running it on a machine you care about.
Who it is forA developer whose coding agents run on a home or office computer and who wants to reach them from a phone while away from the desk.
The problemAgent sessions stay on one machine, so checking progress or answering a prompt means walking back to the computer.
The outcomeYour phone shows the same live Herdr sessions as the computer, with no VPN, no port forwarding and no Pairfob account.
What you need first
- A macOS or Linux computer that stays awake and online
- A current mobile browser on the phone or tablet
- Herdr 0.8 or newer (the installer adds it if missing)
- An AI agent installed and signed in on the computer, if you want to use one
Steps
- Run
curl -fsSL https://pairfob.com/install.sh | shon the computer. - Run
pairfob pairon the computer. - On the phone, open https://pairfob.com/pair and scan the QR code.
- Press Enter once on the computer to admit the phone.
- In the app, create a Terminal session to confirm the connection works.
Prompt for your agent
In the arronKler/pairfob repo, follow the Quick start in README.md to install Pairfob and run `pairfob pair` on this computer. Report the output of `pairfob list` showing one paired device. Verify that `pairfob` prints a running status before you finish.
Caveat. The computer must stay awake and online, and Pairfob does not install agents or configure their accounts, so sign in to your agent on the computer first.
