How to use Humanizer: what you can do with it

What is Humanizer? Humanizer is an agent skill that rewrites AI-written text so it reads like a person wrote it, without changing what it says. It is built on Wikipedia's Signs of AI writing guide and rewrites 26 patterns, such as 'not X but Y' lines, one-line closers and staged run-ups. It installs into Claude Code, Codex and other agents.

How do I use it? In Claude Code run /plugin marketplace add blader/humanizer, then /plugin install humanizer@humanizer; then start a session and type /humanizer, then paste your draft below it; read the rewrite next to the original and check that every fact and number survived. Full steps below.

Added Humanizer to Claude in two minutes, ran an old AI-drafted blog post through it and now uses it daily

The author uploaded the Humanizer skill to Claude, tested it on one of their AI-drafted posts and kept using it every day. The part they had not seen elsewhere is its second pass, where it asks what still sounds AI-generated and fixes that too.

Ran 10 AI-written posts through Humanizer: detector scores fell while content went missing

Detector scores fell to an average of 8.5 percent, nine of ten under 20 percent and four at zero. Side by side, seven rewrites were shorter than the originals and six lost substantive content, one an entire argument, and in one case the rewrite added an invented historical detail.

Quick start with Humanizer

  1. Check you have what it needs: Claude Code, Codex, Claude.ai or another agent that supports skills; npx for the skills CLI install; Text to rewrite, and optionally two or three paragraphs of your own writing for voice matching.
  2. Open blader/humanizer on GitHub and read the README and license.
  3. In Claude Code run /plugin marketplace add blader/humanizer, then /plugin install humanizer@humanizer
  4. Start a session and type /humanizer, then paste your draft below it
  5. Read the rewrite next to the original and check that every fact and number survived
  6. Ask for another pass on any paragraph that still opens with a run-up such as 'Here's the thing'

These steps come from our top use case, Rewrite an AI-drafted announcement so it reads like a person wrote it, which also has a copy-paste agent prompt.
