How to reject malformed AI output before your app uses it with Rulora

Run a structural check on model output so missing fields and unknown references stop early.

Short answer: Install Node.js 20 or newer; then run git clone https://github.com/Buffalo2024/Rulora.git; run cd Rulora. All steps.

Who it is forA backend developer whose app parses model JSON and fails when a required field is missing or a reference is wrong.

The problemModel output can be malformed or incomplete, and the app only finds out after it has already acted on the data.

The outcomeMalformed output is rejected at the boundary with a clear result, and only output that passes the check is passed on.

What you need first

  • Node.js 20 or newer
  • git, or the source ZIP from the repo page
  • A terminal

Steps

  1. Install Node.js 20 or newer.
  2. Run git clone https://github.com/Buffalo2024/Rulora.git
  3. Run cd Rulora
  4. Run npm ci --ignore-scripts
  5. Run npm run example:output and read which cases were rejected.

Prompt for your agent

Using the Rulora repo cloned into <target-dir>, run `npm ci --ignore-scripts` and then `npm run example:output`. Report which sample outputs were rejected and why. Verify that the case with a missing field is rejected, not accepted.

Caveat. The boundary checks structure only, so a well-formed answer can still be factually wrong and the README says evidence and business rules need your own validators.
