Authorization notice. Scumble is dual-use. Only use it on software, sites and systems you own or have explicit permission to test.
Credentials. An agent that runs generation through your API keys will spend provider credit, so set limits on the agent's task and keep the keys out of prompts.
Who it is forA developer or designer who already works in Claude Code and wants an agent to run repetitive image edits in the same window they can watch.
The problemBatch image edits are slow to do by hand, and an agent without access to the editor cannot see the picture or use its undo history.
The outcomeClaude Code opens, selects, generates, matches and exports pictures through Scumble's MCP tools, with the same undo as manual work.
What you need first
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (the README lists Windows as the platform that runs today)
- Either an API key for a supported provider such as Black Forest Labs, OpenAI, Google or fal.ai, or a ComfyUI server with the ComfyUI-InpaintCanvas node pack installed
- A picture to edit, and a short written description of the change
Steps
- Install Scumble and open it, then choose Help, then Copy MCP registration.
- Paste the copied registration into your Claude Code MCP configuration.
- Open the picture you want to work on in Scumble so the agent has a document to act on.
- Ask Claude Code to select the area and run a generation, then check the layer that comes back.
- Export the document from Scumble or ask the agent to export it, and review the result in the window.
Prompt for your agent
Using the Scumble repo at https://github.com/DenRakEiw/scumble, connect through its MCP server and select the area <selection description> in the open document, then generate <description of change>. Expected output: a new layer in the open document and an exported file at <output path>. Verify that the new layer appears in the window and that undo reverts it.
Caveat. The README describes 114 MCP tools, but its own status notes say the MCP server has been run live while other agent routes have not, so check each tool's result before relying on it.
