How to play a scroll animation or ad video in the chat with Claude Show Your Work

Have Claude Code record a video of its work and review it in a player with timestamps inside the terminal.

Who it is forA web developer or marketer who needs to review an animation, scroll effect or launch video that Claude Code produced.

The problemReviewing motion and timing is hard from static screenshots, and opening separate video tools breaks the workflow.

The outcomeThe recording plays in the chat with scrubbing, skip controls and clickable timestamps for each step.

What you need first

  • Claude Code 2.1.286 or later
  • A terminal that supports the kitty graphics protocol, such as Ghostty or Warp
  • ffmpeg, needed for videos (brew install ffmpeg on macOS, or ask Claude to install it)

Steps

  1. Run /plugin marketplace add https://github.com/iamumeransari/claude-show-your-work.git#releases in Claude Code
  2. Run /plugin install show-your-work@iamumeransari in Claude Code
  3. Install ffmpeg with brew install ffmpeg on macOS, or ask Claude to install it
  4. Ask Claude Code to build the animation or page and show you how it feels as you scroll
  5. Use the play, pause and timeline controls, then click a timestamp in the sidebar to jump to that step

Prompt for your agent

With the claude-show-your-work plugin in Claude Code, record a video of <target page or animation> as it scrolls from top to bottom and play it in the chat. Expected output: a playable video in the chat with timestamped steps in the sidebar. Verify that the timestamps jump to the matching moment in the video.

Caveat. Videos need ffmpeg installed, and the README says the plugin is cross-platform on macOS, Linux and Windows but gives the ffmpeg install command only for macOS.
