Who it is forA developer who codes on a laptop, a desktop and maybe a Windows or Linux box, and wants their agents to know the same things everywhere.
The problemAgent memory and skills live in per-machine folders, so lessons learned on one computer never reach the others.
The outcomeThe same instructions, skills, MCPs and memory notes on every machine and OS, kept as plain Markdown in one Git repository.
What you need first
- uv or Homebrew
- On Windows, Developer Mode
Steps
- Set up the workspace on the first machine with
aikito init workspace ~/aikitoandaikito sync - The workspace is a local Git repository; review it for secrets before pushing it to a private remote
- On the second machine install Aikito with
uv tool install aikitoand clone the workspace - Run
aikito syncthere to connect resources to that machine's agents - Compare
aikito statuson both machines - Let agents record verified conclusions with the bundled durable-memory skill, then commit and pull as usual
Prompt for your agent
Help me move my Aikito workspace at ~/aikito to a private Git remote: check it for secrets first, push it, then give me the exact commands to set it up on my <second OS> machine and verify with aikito status.
Caveat. You govern secrets: Aikito does not stop you from pushing a key that sits in the workspace.
