Who it is forA developer who wants the agent to explain results the same way and follow the same review steps across projects and sessions.
The problemEach new session starts without your preferred explanation depth, result format, or the step-by-step procedures you reuse.
The outcomeThe agent applies your saved User Profile preferences and reusable Procedure Memory on new tasks without you restating them.
What you need first
- Node.js 20+ (Node.js 24 LTS recommended)
- At least one supported coding agent installed, such as Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor
- A normal interactive terminal for setup, or a caller-provided API key for stdin setup
- Network access for MemoraX search and writeback
- On Linux, /usr/bin/secret-tool from libsecret and an available Secret Service for guest credentials
Steps
- Set up MemoraX Code with
memorax-code setupand restart your coding agent. - In a new session, ask the agent to use the MemoraX Code skill to remember a preference such as your preferred result format.
- Ask the agent to remember a reusable procedure, including its steps, prerequisites, and validation gate.
- Open a different project in the same client and start a new session with one prompt.
- Check that the preference and procedure were applied, and correct any saved entry that does not match what you wanted.
Prompt for your agent
Use the MemoraX Code skill to remember my preferred result format and my review procedure for <task type>. In a new session in <project path>, apply both before you answer and list which saved preference and procedure you used. Verify that the procedure's validation gate is stated in your answer.
Caveat. Personal Memory and Procedure Memory are global to your user account on the machine, and restoration after a compaction during the same task is not guaranteed.
