Remote script. The curl commands download a file from GitHub into your repo; read it before committing since every agent session will follow it.
Who it is forA tech lead who wants consistent agent behavior in one shared repository without changing everyone's global setup.
The problemEach teammate's agent behaves differently, and global plugins do not travel with the repo.
The outcomeA committed CLAUDE.md that makes every agent session in the repo state assumptions, keep changes small and verify against goals.
What you need first
- Claude Code (plugin install) or any project where the agent reads CLAUDE.md
- curl for the per-project install
- Cursor users can use the committed project rule in .cursor/rules
Steps
- For a new project run
curl -o CLAUDE.md https://raw.githubusercontent.com/forrestchang/andrej-karpathy-skills/main/CLAUDE.md - For a project that already has a CLAUDE.md, append instead with
curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/forrestchang/andrej-karpathy-skills/main/CLAUDE.md >> CLAUDE.md - Add your project specific rules below the guidelines, such as test or style requirements
- Commit CLAUDE.md so every teammate's agent reads the same rules
- Cursor users can use the committed rule in .cursor/rules/karpathy-guidelines.mdc
Prompt for your agent
Append the andrej-karpathy-skills CLAUDE.md to this repo's existing CLAUDE.md without removing anything already there, add a short project section with <our rules>, and show me the final diff before committing.
Caveat.
