How to preview the kitchen interface with scripted example steps with Agenttrail

Explore Agenttrail Kitchen with a labeled scripted example before connecting any real agent.

Who it is forA developer or team lead evaluating Agenttrail who wants to see the interface before installing hooks or running an agent session.

The problemIt is unclear what the 3D view shows and how it maps to real work, and there is no live agent session to test with yet.

The outcomeA walkthrough of chefs, tickets and delivery steps using labeled example activity, followed by a switch back to Live mode.

What you need first

  • Node.js 20 or newer
  • A browser with WebGL
  • A local project folder (a git repo and PLAN.md are optional)

Steps

  1. Open a terminal in any project folder.
  2. Run npx agenttrail-kitchen . --example to start Kitchen with the scripted example. (inferred, check the README)
  3. Click **Next example step** to advance through the scripted activity.
  4. Click **Live** to return to your real repo once you have seen enough.

Prompt for your agent

In the repo <repo-path>, start Agenttrail Kitchen in example mode and advance through at least three example steps. Report which chef and ticket changed at each step. Verify that the view is labeled as scripted example activity and not as live observation.

Caveat. Example mode is scripted and labeled, so it shows the interface only and does not reflect the activity of any real agent.
