How to attach local files to project tasks for AI work with Workdsh

Put your existing documents in the library and reference them from project tasks.

Who it is forA person with existing documents on their computer who wants the AI to work from those files inside a project.

The problemAI tools work poorly when you must copy files in by hand, and it is hard to track which version of a file was used.

The outcomeLocal files indexed in the library, searchable and previewable, and referenced by project tasks with their revision.

What you need first

  • WorkDSH Desktop downloaded from the project's release page
  • A personal project goal, or a company account if you need enterprise features
  • Enterprise Connection plugin file, only for the collaboration and business plugin use cases

Steps

  1. Open the library in WorkDSH Desktop.
  2. Add the local files you already have to the library.
  3. Search and preview the files to confirm they are the right versions.
  4. Open a project and create a task that references the material.
  5. Review the task result and keep editing the deliverable in the supported editor.

Prompt for your agent

Using the WorkDSH repo at techflag/workdsh, add the local files in <folder path> to the library and reference them from a project task. Expected output: a task that lists the referenced files and their revision. Verify that the task still points to the same revision after you edit a file.

Caveat. Preview, editing and export fidelity differ by file format, and the README says end-to-end validation of document references is ongoing during Alpha.
