Who it is forA developer who wants a terminal dashboard with charts for monitoring or analysis and no web stack.
The problemAdding charts to a terminal program usually means reaching for a separate library or building the drawing yourself.
The outcomeA running terminal dashboard showing braille line charts, bar charts, pie charts and sparklines, and a starting point for your own data.
What you need first
- Go toolchain installed (for go install, go get, go run and go test)
- A terminal that supports the app's output (images and some features depend on the terminal)
- For the MCP use case: an MCP client such as Claude Code or Cursor, and limoni-mcp available on PATH (the README does not show how to install it)
- For the backdrop use case: curl, sh, and a terminal emulator
Steps
- Run
git clone https://github.com/thebanri/limoniand change into the cloned folder (inferred, check the README) - Run
go run ./examples/chartsfrom the repo root - Open the examples/charts source and replace the sample data with your own values
Prompt for your agent
Clone https://github.com/thebanri/limoni, run go run ./examples/charts from the repo root, and report whether the braille line chart, bar chart, pie chart and sparklines all render. Then point one chart at <your data source>.
Caveat. The README lists the charts example in the repo but does not describe its code, so the data replacement step depends on the example's structure.
