How to compare Jev against a chat model on the same questions with Awesome Jev Typesafe

Run identical typed questions through Jev and an LLM API to see which fits your task.

Who it is forAn engineer deciding whether Jev should replace a chat model call in an existing pipeline.

The problemVendor numbers do not show how Jev does on your own questions, and switching without a test is risky.

The outcomeA side by side table of answers from both models on one set of questions.

What you need first

  • Access to Jev through the TypeSafe waitlist, or through Vercel AI Gateway, Cloudflare Workers AI, OpenRouter (beta), or Netlify AI Gateway
  • A terminal with Node.js installed for the npx command (inferred)
  • An API key from the TypeSafe console or the chosen gateway

Steps

  1. Read the Use-case map and Workflow evals pages linked on the Start here section.
  2. Install typesafe-sdk-python or typesafe-sdk-js.
  3. Install system-one-adapter-python following its README. (inferred, check the README)
  4. Run the same question set through the Jev client and the adapter client.
  5. Score both sets of answers against labels you wrote before the run.

Prompt for your agent

Using the repos typesafe-ai/system-one-adapter-python and typesafe-ai/typesafe-sdk-python, run the same questions from <question file> through both clients. Expected output: a table of answers and accuracy per client. Verify that both clients received identical state and question text.

Caveat. The adapter's README determines how it connects to an LLM API, so confirm its setup before you rely on the comparison.
