Who it is forAn editor who finished a motion clip in the workbench and needs to layer it over footage in another editing app.
The problemMotion graphics rendered as a flat video include a background, which blocks layering over live footage in other editors.
The outcomeA transparent MOV (ProRes 4444) or WebM (VP9 alpha) file containing only the chosen clip.
What you need first
- Claude Code or Codex installed
- Node 18 or newer and Python 3.10 or newer
- ffmpeg installed
- A narration script (text) and a finished voiceover audio file, or a Fish Audio API key if you want generated voice
- Optional: a real person footage clip for on-camera shots
Steps
- Open the workbench as described in workbench/GUIDE.md after the video has been built.
- Right-click the motion clip you want on the multi-track timeline.
- Choose the transparent export option to produce a MOV ProRes 4444 or WebM VP9 alpha file.
- Import the exported file into Jianying, Premiere, or After Effects as an overlay layer.
- Check that the background is transparent and the overlay lines up with the footage in the target editor.

Use the video-talkcraft skill from https://github.com/Vincentwei1021/video-talkcraft to export the motion clip <clip name> from the workbench as a transparent overlay. Expected output: one MOV or WebM file with alpha only for that clip. Verify that the background is transparent before handing the file to an editor.
Caveat. The README says the transparent export strips the card's background layer and any person silhouette placeholder, so check any clip that relied on those before relying on the overlay.
