How to load a less-restricted model variant locally with Kyojin

Run an optional uncensored mode on GLM, MiMo or the Qwen preset for controlled red-team and research tests.

Authorization notice. Kyojin is dual-use. Only use it on software, sites and systems you own or have explicit permission to test.

Reverse engineering. The uncensored mode is designed to make the model refuse far less, so outputs must be kept inside an approved test plan and not used to generate harmful content.

Who it is forA security researcher or AI safety tester who needs a model that refuses fewer requests to study its behavior on their own machine.

The problemHosted models refuse many requests, which blocks some legitimate adversarial testing and evaluation work.

The outcomeA local model load with the uncensored mode applied at load time, with the original weights left unchanged.

What you need first

  • AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 mini PC with 128 GB of memory (Strix Halo, gfx1151)
  • ROCm build of torch, installed per doc/install.md
  • Python and the hf command-line tool to download model packs
  • Roughly 100 GB of free disk space for a model pack (Qwen pack is 95 GB)

Steps

  1. Read doc/refusal_hook.md to understand how the mode works.
  2. Download the uncensored pack for GLM-5.3-Flash or MiMo-V2.6-Flash from the links in the README, or enable the preset in the Qwen3.8-Flash-Next pack.
  3. Follow the serve commands in doc/models.md for that model.
  4. Run only prompts that are part of an approved test plan and log every request and response.

Prompt for your agent

In the Yamz-Labs/kyojin repo, read doc/refusal_hook.md and load the uncensored variant of <target model> following doc/models.md. Expected output: the server starts with the mode applied and returns responses to a scoped test prompt. Verify that the test is covered by an approved plan and that all requests are logged before running it.

Caveat. The README says the mode is off by default for the Qwen preset and that the other packs are first versions, so behavior may change between releases.
