Who it is forA web developer or teacher who wants an interactive math or 3D animation on a site without running a render server.

The problemHosting a separate render service just to show an animation adds cost and moving parts.

The outcomeA web page that runs and renders a ManimGX scene in the browser.

What you need first

  • Python 3.13 or newer for the pip install route
  • Node.js and npm for the browser route (npm install manimgx)
  • A browser with WebGPU support to view scenes in the web page
  • An AI coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, only for the prompt-driven route

Steps

  1. Run npm install manimgx
  2. Follow the embed guide at https://manimgx.academa.ai/user-guide/rendering/#embed-in-a-web-page.
  3. Add the scene code and the embed markup to your web page.
  4. Open the page in a browser that supports WebGPU.
  5. Confirm the scene renders without any server-side render step.

Prompt for your agent

Using the manimgx repo at github.com/academa-labs/manimgx, add a ManimGX scene to the web page at <target page> following the embed guide, installing with npm install manimgx. Expected output: the scene renders in the browser. Verify that the page renders the scene in a WebGPU-capable browser without a render server.

Caveat. The browser path depends on Pyodide and WebGPU, so test in your target browsers before publishing.
