How to get Claude Code answers you can skim at a glance with Attention Span

Install the Attention-kind output style so every answer leads with the conclusion and uses bold and arrows.

Who it is forA developer using Claude Code who is tired, deep in focus, or has limited attention and finds long answers hard to read.

The problemDefault Claude Code replies are long and bury the answer in wind-up text, so the key point takes effort to find.

The outcomeClaude answers first in short spaced points marked with arrows, with the important words in bold, so you can read just the bold and get the answer.

What you need first

  • Claude Code installed and working
  • A terminal to run the install commands
  • Internet access to GitHub for the plugin or the curl download

Steps

  1. In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add alexgreensh/attention-span
  2. Run /plugin install attention-span
  3. Open /config and set Output style to Attention-kind, or type /attention-kind for a single conversation
  4. Ask a question you would normally ask and check that the first line states the answer

Prompt for your agent

Using the repo alexgreensh/attention-span, install the attention-span plugin in Claude Code, then ask Claude this question: <your question>. Expected output: an answer that opens with the conclusion, uses arrow-marked points and bold key words. Verify that the first line of the reply gives the answer.

Caveat. The README benchmark measures style-only changes and says it does not claim better answers, only shorter and easier to scan output.
