Who it is forA 3D artist making a branded or story-driven character whose chest logo, lettering or face must stay readable.
The problemImage-to-3D models redraw the picture, so text and logos come back garbled, and cutting faces makes this worse.
The outcomeA low-poly model where text such as a chest label still reads correctly, with the file kept at a light game size by Finish.
What you need first
- An Apple Silicon Mac or an NVIDIA PC (Linux or Windows per the README), or a Linux AMD card with ROCm for the Pixal3D route
- Terminal access to run the install line
- Free disk space for model weights, for example 8.4 GB for Pixal3D and 6.6 GB for Front + back
- Full Xcode on a Mac if you build Pixal3D locally
Steps
- Install with
curl -fsSL https://assetfurnace.com/install.sh | bashand open the studio. - In Setup & Status, set up Pixal3D, which the README says has Pixel Match on by default.
- Drop your picture with the text or logo, then press Create to build the 3D model.
- Open the Finish step and confirm Pixel Match is applied to the surfaces the image can see.
- Check the text on the model, then download the finished, compressed file.
Prompt for your agent
Using the AssetFurnace repo at <install folder>, build a Pixal3D model from <picture path> with Pixel Match on and Finish set to about 5k faces. Verify that the text '<visible text>' is legible on the model surface.
Caveat. The README says Pixel Match is on by default only for Pixal3D models and that other backends are coming, so it will not apply to the other backends yet.
