Authorization notice. Foxprofile is dual-use. Only use it on software, sites and systems you own or have explicit permission to test.
Credentials. The agent can read and use the logins stored in the profile, so only connect profiles whose accounts you are willing to let an agent use.
Who it is forA developer or analyst who wants an AI coding assistant to check a site inside a prepared browser profile instead of a fresh session.
The problemA plain automated browser starts with no history or logins, and the developer has to script every step of the check by hand.
The outcomeThe agent launches a named profile, browses with its saved cookies, and returns a screenshot or page text.
What you need first
- Python 3.10 or newer
- Windows, macOS or Linux
- A few hundred MB of free disk space for Camoufox and the GeoIP database
- A proxy per profile if you want a separate exit IP for each identity
Steps
- Complete the setup with
python -m venv .venv, pip install -r requirements.txtandpython -m camoufox fetch - Start the desktop app with
python -m src.mainand keep it running - Add the MCP server to Claude Code with
claude mcp add --transport http foxprofile http://127.0.0.1:8000/mcp - In Claude Code, ask the agent to open a profile by name, go to a URL and send a screenshot
- Check that the agent used the launch_profile and browser_screenshot tools and that the screenshot matches the page
Prompt for your agent
Using the repo chienbm98/foxprofile through its MCP server at http://127.0.0.1:8000/mcp, launch the profile <profile-name>, navigate to <target-url>, and take a screenshot. Return the screenshot and a one-line summary of the page title. Verify that the profile appears as running in running_profiles before you navigate.
Caveat. The README says there is deliberately no delete tool for agents, but agents can still read the page and act on logged-in sessions, so review what they do.
