Who it is forAn engineer taking over an unfamiliar codebase who needs to know what to fix first.
The problemA new codebase has many possible issues and no clear order for fixing them.
The outcomeA ranked list of findings for the whole repo, with the code map and the top fixes first.
What you need first
- Claude Code or Codex installed
- A git repository with a project to work on
- Permission to install a plugin into your agent
Steps
- Run
/plugin marketplace add DietrichGebert/ponytailin Claude Code. - Run
/plugin install ponytail@ponytailin Claude Code. - Open the repo you want to check in Claude Code.
- Run
/ponytail-auditfrom the repo root. - Work through the ranked list from the top, starting with the first fix it recommends.
Prompt for your agent
In the repo <repo-path> (DietrichGebert/ponytail skill installed), run /ponytail-audit. Expected output: a short map of entry points and data flow, then a ranked list of findings with the first fix to make. Verify that the top-ranked item names a real file in the repo.
Caveat. The audit covers the whole repo in one pass, so its ranking is a starting point for your own judgment rather than a complete security or load review.
