Authorization notice. Reelmimic is dual-use. Only use it on software, sites and systems you own or have explicit permission to test.
Account pooling. Posting uses your Upload-Post key and the social accounts linked to it, so only publish from accounts you own or are authorized to use.
Credentials. UPLOAD_POST_KEY grants posting access to your connected accounts, so keep it in the secrets file and out of shared logs.
Who it is forA creator who has a finished ReelMimic video and wants to publish it to several social platforms on a schedule.
The problemUploading the same video to several platforms by hand is repetitive, and a mistaken post is hard to undo.
The outcomeThe video is scheduled to the chosen platforms at the chosen time, after a dry run confirmed what would be sent.
What you need first
- Node.js 22.18+
- Python 3.10+
- FFmpeg
- Chrome
- Claude Code or Codex CLI, installed and logged in
- Rights to the reference video and to any output you publish
Steps
- Set UPLOAD_POST_KEY and UPLOAD_POST_USER in ~/.reelmimic/secrets.json, and add the Upload-Post account you plan to use.
- Confirm the project's final review passed in the Production line tab, since the command skips projects that did not pass unless you use --force.
- Run
npm run post-video -- --platforms tiktok, instagram, youtubefrom the app folder as a dry run and read what it lists. (inferred, check the README) - Run the same command with --at, --tz and --send added, for example
npm run post-video -- --platforms tiktok --at 2026-10-05T18:00 --tz Europe/Madrid --send, once you are happy with the dry run. (inferred, check the README) - Check the scheduled post on each platform, and rerun the same command only if you want a repost, since the tool does not post the same video twice.
Prompt for your agent
In the reelmimic repo app folder, run `npm run post-video -- --platforms <platforms>` as a dry run for the project <project name>, then review the listed output. Expected output: a dry-run summary of what would be posted, with nothing sent. Verify the output before adding --send, and only send if the project's final review passed.
Caveat. ReelMimic never posts by itself, and nothing leaves your computer until you add --send to the post-video command.
