Who it is forA curious beginner or non-developer who wants to understand how AI works and has no time for setup.

The problemMost AI learning starts with heavy math or code. The learner needs a gentle, visual way to see what a model does.

The outcomeThe learner completes lab 1, reads the lesson in their chosen level, passes the checkpoint and marks it complete.

What you need first

  • A modern web browser for the hosted version, with no install needed
  • For the desktop or local setup: Node.js 20.19 or newer (22 or newer is best) and Git
  • For the desktop app build: Rust and the Tauri prerequisites for your system
  • For the optional local AI guide: about 1.3 GB of disk space for the Qwen3.5 2B model

Steps

  1. Open https://fazmin.github.io/AILearningGuide/ in your browser.
  2. Pick Simple, Plain or Standard reading mode from the welcome tour or the top bar.
  3. Open lab 1 from the home screen and follow the steps, using the "Try this" hint.
  4. Read the Learn panel, then take the checkpoint at the end of the lab.
  5. Click "Mark complete" and open the next lab in order or jump to any topic.

Prompt for your agent

Using the Fazmin/AILearningGuide repo, open https://fazmin.github.io/AILearningGuide/ in a browser, choose Simple reading mode, and complete lab 1 by following its "Try this" hint and checkpoint. Expected output: lab 1 marked complete. Verify the home screen progress now shows lab 1 as done.

Caveat. The README says the web version runs all labs and lessons, but the local AI guide and safe API key storage only work in the desktop app.
