How to run the Howseen example film locally and re-render it with Claude Motion Design

Render the included Howseen launch film from its source to learn how the skill is structured before you change it.

Who it is forA developer who wants a working reference project before adapting the skill to their own product video.

The problemThe skill's rules are easier to follow when you can see a finished film built from the same code.

The outcomeA local copy of the 24 second launch film rendered at 60 fps with its music and sound effects, plus a stills sheet to review.

What you need first

  • Claude Code installed, with a ~/.claude/skills folder you can write to
  • Python with pip
  • Chromium installed through Playwright
  • ffmpeg available from the command line
  • A brand folder with sourced facts about your product (the skill asks for these)

Steps

  1. Go into the example folder: cd examples/howseen-launch
  2. Download the free music, sound effects, logos and font: python fetch_assets.py
  3. Serve the film in the background: python -m http.server 8000 &
  4. Render quick stills to check the look: python render.py probe 1 8 15 20
  5. Render the full film, then build the audio: python render.py full and python audio.py

Prompt for your agent

In the claude-motion-design repo, run the examples/howseen-launch project and render the full film to out/video.mp4. Expected output: a 60 fps MP4 and probe/sheet.png. Verify that the probe sheet shows the four frames at 1, 8, 15 and 20 seconds.

Caveat. The example downloads third-party media under its own licenses, so keep those files out of any video you publish unless their licenses allow it.
