Who it is forAn active trader with a Robinhood Agentic Trading account who wants an agent to act only within set limits.
The problemLetting an agent trade a live account with no order approval or turn limits is risky.
The outcomeAgents place orders only under the approval mode and background turn limits you set, with per-agent order accounting.
What you need first
- Apple Silicon Mac
- claude and/or codex CLI installed and signed in
- Robinhood Agentic Trading account with an authenticated MCP connection to your agent
- Funded brokerage account, if you plan to let agents place real orders
Steps
- Download the latest
OpenTrade-agent- -arm64.dmgfrom Releases, open it, and drag OpenTrade-agent to Applications. - Install and sign into the
claudeand/orcodexCLI, then connect the Robinhood MCP following the Robinhood instructions. - Open the app and choose manual or auto order approval and background turn limits for each agent.
- Start one agent and check its orders in per-agent order accounting before raising any limit.
Prompt for your agent
In the MariusOTB/OpenTrade-Agent repo, list the guardrail settings for the agent named <agent name>, including order approval mode and background turn limit. Expected output: a short list of those values. Verify that each value matches what the app shows before any order is allowed.
Caveat. The README says agents can place and cancel real orders and that you alone bear the financial consequences of your agents.
