How to run and monitor the self-hosted podcast stack with TLDR Radio

Use the make targets to follow logs, stop services and see every available command.

Who it is forA home lab user who wants the app running reliably on a small server.

The problemDebugging two containers without shortcuts is slow.

The outcomeA repeatable way to start, inspect and stop the stack.

What you need first

  • Docker
  • About 5 GB of disk for images

Steps

  1. Run make help to list commands
  2. Follow both services with make logs
  3. Stop with make down
  4. Restart with make up after updates

Prompt for your agent

On <server>, run tldr-radio with `make up`, check `make logs` for errors during one broadcast, then `make down`. Report any errors seen.

Caveat. Audio and data are stored under ./data, so back up that folder before removing the containers.
